80 Days Away: The Word is Spreading…

The cloak we’re hiding behind is quickly fading away

We are getting closer to living our adventurous life!
This is a daily documentation of my adventure from Hillsboro, Oregon to Cape Town, South Africa on September 16th, 2017.

Day 21 is a day we’ll remember forever

Unbeknownst to me, Jess tell her boss about our upcoming adventure this morning. Jess was terrified of how she was going to react, but, like the office is prone to do, it went well. Her boss is incredibly excited for us. We are sad to leave such wonderful people.

It’s insane how lucky we have been with our employers!

Not only that, but Jess’ boss is giving her a slight raise, something I am trying more and more to get from my current boss. Because of my ability to write as I please here, working with my girlfriend, and my choices of boss in general, remaining here in the office would be the best option. I am considering leaving THOUSANDS on the table in order to continue this opportunity.

But my boss is leaving for camping today. So we’ll have to wait and see.

The relief is enormous. Our bosses were the last on our list of key people to tell. Now it’s a matter of telling everybody else.

Sure, we could just go without others knowing, but we both have brands we’re building. Family and friends are pivotal in starting our own business or brand; they are our first fans, our first clients, they get the snowball rolling.

While we have all the time in the world, the pressure is on to make something income-wise from our ventures.

Jess has already started. She has an awesome client with quality notebooks and is on the brink of snagging another genuine business in need of her social media and marketing talents.

As for me, I am getting to know the accountability site coach.me, a platform already created so I can give my services to a niche already clamoring for guidance and structure in their lives. I will be focusing on building and maintaining an aesthetic physique while traveling (because it is definitely doable).

We are tripling down on our expertise, and I can’t wait to see what our future looks like!

Hurry Up and Wait” has been our mantra since the beginning. We can only do so much before the adventure — patience is our sole option. And now that we have told everyone that needed to be told, this mantra hits us harder than ever before.

The next things on the agenda are:

  • Figure out my employment situation within the next 10 days
  • Find an apartment for our three month South Africa adventure
  • Develop my coach.me platform and design services for my audience
  • Jess works like a demon and builds relationships with three other clients
  • Move all of our sh*t, cancel everything, and get the f*ck out of here!

The snowball continues to grow: It is as big as our apartment, but soon it will be bigger than the plane we will take off in, bigger than Cape Town, bigger than anything we could’ve ever imagined.
