When you live your life waiting for your excuses to somehow turn into a finished to do list, what do you think happens?
I am not interested in making excuses.

Hard work and patience is the only way you can make it happen. If you don’t love what you do, you will continuously find excuses and then complain that you haven’t gotten anything done or published.

I agree with you, Jon: Fuck that noise!

Do what you love, do it constantly and consistently, love the shit out of the process you’re in, and don’t expect “success” to pop out from behind a wall screaming, “You did it! You’re done!”

If you do something you love, you’ll never be done. I’ll never be done writing, same as you Jon.

Of course, everybody is going to screw up. It’s inevitable. But as you said, own up to it. I’m going to take it a step further: After you own up to your fuck up, move past it. Don’t chastise yourself just because you wasted five hours playing video games or binge-watching Netflix; take it as what it is, then MOVE ON.

Wonderful short article Jon, hope it spurs people into massive action today!
