Web Development With A Chromebook: Terminal — Setup

Update 9/20/2018

If you have version 69 on the stable channel you no longer need to switch to the developer channel and can skip the steps to do so.

1.Go to Settings

2. Select the Settings Menu in the top left corner

3. Click on “About Chrome OS”

4. Click “Detailed Build Information”

5. Click “Change Channel”

6. Select “Developer”

7. Click “Change Channel”

8. Wait for it to load and restart when prompted

9. After restart, go back to settings and scroll down until you see “Linux (Beta)”

10. Click “Turn On”

11. Click “Install”

12. Wait a few minutes for installation to complete

13. Click your search button and search for “Terminal”

14. Click on the Terminal App

15. Enjoy using your terminal
