Back to the routine

Tomorrow I’m back to work after a nice family vacation with some close friends in upstate NY. To be perfectly honest, I don’t feel like writing this right now, but I’m holding myself to at least a little bit a day. I got home a bit ago after 10 hours on the road and really just feel like sleeping…

Vacation was awesome. Spending time with friends was awesome. It was really more like a staycation away from home, and I’m so happy to be able to do something like that with my family. Of these friends, one half of this couple and I have known each other since our mothers were pregnant at the same time. Year over year, going back and forth to visit we have remained close and now have young families of our own. It warms my heart that we are continuing the tradition started by our parents. Family is so important and to be able to share that experience with others, especially another family, is truly a gift. We ate lots of good food, played a bunch of games, went to a museum and a nice restaurant, visited the zoo and otherwise lazed about on the couch a bunch… pretty much what we would have done if given a week at home with no work and didn’t feel like traveling.

That said, I’m really looking forward to getting back to work. I have such fantastic colleagues who inspire me to be productive and learn a whole lot. Who wouldn’t like JavaScript-ing all day though, amirite? I hope I don’t ramble too much about my vacation at the weekly standup tomorrow morning. Anyway, I think I’m about to rambling tooo much now.. soooo bedtime. ❤
