I Am Evicting My Tenants
What do they want? To be my tenants for life?
My tenants are refusing to move out. After six months’ notice, they still haven’t found a new home. Why? Because they haven’t even bothered to look.
What do they want? To be my tenants for life? Don’t I get a say?
I think I deserve more than a say; after all, the mortgage is in my name. The asset and the liability are in my name.
They’ve had four good years living at the property. Four years in which all repair and maintenance issues were dealt with promptly. I am a good landlady.
In August last year, when they raised concerns about having seeing rats outside the property, Pest controls experts were immediately dispatched to the property to investigate.
The recommendations from Pest Control;
1) Use double bags for organic debris to avoid spillage, which may attract mice.
2) Clean up existing debris in the bin store.
3) Re-apply the pesticide.
I paid £253 to be told that there were rats around the property because the place was not kept clean!
I angrily asked the managing agency to tell the tenants that I never again wanted to hear about rats at the property.
