Imperfect Action

Our need for perfection keeps us competitive and pushes us to perform at our highest capacity level. On the other hand, it can cause fear, anxiousness and prevent us from moving forward with important tasks that limit us from reaching our goals.

There is health in identifying this limitation, and sometimes it takes the leap of faith to follow through with it. This can be rewarding, although scary to follow through with something that seems a little half-baked.

The assignment for today is to identify my own personal “imperfect action” and follow through with it. Accept that it’s not final, perfect or the best it can be, but it’s ready for the world and it can be a work in progress.

This is easy, I know it’s my website. I am constantly fixing and re-working it. I am reluctant to make it make it public since it’s ‘nearly’ done. But, it has been ‘nearly’ done for a while and this lesson has been a good reminder to set it free!

I will make this my new focus. Not to make it perfect, rather to shift my focus on getting my imperfect work out and surrender my need for control and perfection.
