The Adventures of Rafal & Jacqueline Rudzinski

Rudasaki Do Japan 2016

July 10, 2016

Day 8: We were up at the crack of dawn, on to another train ride. Almost 3 hours later, we arrived in Kyoto. Our first stop in Kyoto was the Bamboo Forest. My dad would probably have a cow that I went all the way to Japan to walk through a bamboo forest when we have a forest of bamboo in our backyard 😂.

There was just something peaceful about walking through this forest, despite hundreds of other people around…

We then made our way around the river towards Iwatayama Monkey Park.

The Monkey Park was a steep 20 minute walk with a great view of Kyoto, and of course, monkeys!

You could spend 100¥ to get apples or peanuts to feed, and as cheesy as it was, we had to try it.

April through July is the birthing season so we were fortunate to be able to see many little baby monkeys running sound, as the adults were not very cute.. Haha

After getting our fill of Monkeys, we headed back to check in to our Air BnB

But it was so hot out, we had to get some green tea ice cream

We checked in and took a nap because I think we sweat out our body weight in water having to carry our bags around all day while sight seeing until our check in time. For dinner, we found a local brew pub in the area of Kyoto that we were staying at for dinner.

Beer Komachi has a lot of craft beers on tap and many California bottled beers.

We started with the Minami Shinshu Beer Apple Hop from Nagano; Kyoto Brewing Ichigo Ichie saison from Kyoto; Shiga Kogen Beer Isseki Sancho barrel aged imperial dark saison from Nagano

We had six beers and 6 plates of appetizers all for 6000¥ (~$60) which wasn’t bad at all! We decided to call it a night early as we have full days ahead of us!

I am also finally caught up on my blogs! Yay! Until tomorrow night..

Oyasumi!
