What “Millennials” Demand from Education
Erik P.M. Vermeulen

I’m bookmarking your article. I think I might even post your “5 things” in my classroom. I teach computer science to a variety of age groups, and these expectations pertain to older generations as well. Ageism in the tech industry is the one -ism, in my opinion, that seems to be blatantly acceptable and routine. My older students see this, and they’re in my classes with aspirations of entrepreneurship. They are, themselves, the only employer who won’t discriminate against them.

One minor thing:

A lack of interest can easily be mistaken for apathy.

They are the same thing?

I understood what you meant — that the student’s lack of engagement could be more a reflection on my lesson vs. apathy for the subject matter :)

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
