Jeremiah Wolfe has finally made some decent headway on his life goals. Things have been hard since his mom left, but he made it through. Working and going to school makes life a whirlwind, but Jeremiah knows what it’s like to be an abandoned kid so he’s determined to get his degree in social work. For some extra cash, he agrees to cover for a classmate at work. Nothing goes as expected that night, but Jeremiah doesn’t care because it allows him to meet Cameron Gallagher.

Cameron Gallagher usually isn’t one to take chances. He prefers things to be orderly and precise. It’s the reason he became an accountant. That’s why it’s unprecedented for him to allow a complete stranger into his hotel room. Fortunately, it was definitely worth the risk, because the man had given him a night beyond anything he’s ever experienced before. Unfortunately, he didn’t get a name or number so he might never see that amazing man again.

Both Jeremiah and Cameron consider themselves changed by that night, so when they meet again by happenstance, neither is willing to let the other get away.

One of the things that I really love about this novel is that both Jeremiah and Cameron trust themselves enough to take a risk on each other. Their first meeting was unexpected and out of character for both of them. Yet, they both feel strongly that the connection they felt was genuine. They’re both willing to do what they can to find each other even before their chance second meeting at one of Jere’s part-time jobs.

Jeremiah also struggles to trust others because of what he went through after his mom left. It took him a lot of effort to stabilize his life, and he did it mostly by himself. He doesn’t like depending on people because who knows if that person will stay in his life. Yet it’s different with Cameron. Jeremiah doesn’t mind when Cameron takes charge and plans things for him because he truly believes that Cameron has his best interests at heart.

Cameron also struggles with trust because of his previous relationship. He’s not especially warm or outspoken, so he’s gotten used to people overlooking him or considering him to be too cold and reserved. There are also those who get annoyed by his inclination to take charge and arrange things. However, with Jeremiah, Cam isn’t afraid to be himself. He’s determined no one else can make him feel like Jeremiah does so he’s willing to put himself out there to make it work.

5 stars! Recommended for anyone who believes a chance meeting can become true love.
