Image destruction

“The poor image is no longer about the real thing — the originary original. Instead, it is about swarm circulation, digital dispersion, fractured and flexible temporalities. It is about defiance and appropriation just as it is about conformism and expoloitation. In short: it is about reality.”
Hito Steyerl: In defense of the Poor Image (2009)

The image could be destroyed, edited, degraded and fractured with innocent or bad intentions. The same image, with the same content, angle and content can be destroyed in purpose of creative a new narrative.

This is essentially the same picture, by the same photographer, but cropped. The edit now tells a whole new story.
