Travel Days and Day 1 in Tbilisi, Georgia
May 16 — May 17 (Travel)
We departed Detroit on Tuesday, May 16 at 8:45p.m. Our flight took us to Paris and Istanbul, with lengthy layovers at each stop, before finally arriving in Georgia on Thursday, May 18 at 2:00 a.m. It was a long two days with very little sleep but our attitude remained positive.
Thursday, May 18 — Tbilisi, Georgia (Day 1)
We arrived at Mar Shimmun Bar Sabbae Church at 4a.m and were greeted by the pastor, Father Benny. He gave us a quick tour and we went to bed for much needed rest. We woke up around 1p.m. and suffered from jet lag throughout the day. The day was full as we visited a few Georgian Orthodox churches and walked around the city of Tbilisi. It was a great day, but the next day was even better.
