Ronald Dominique, also known as the Bayou strangler, is an American serial killer who murdered at least 23 men and boys in Louisiana between 1997 and 2006 and almost got away with it.

Ronald Joseph Dominique was born on January 9, 1964, in Thibodaux, Louisiana, about an hour’s drive from both New Orleans and Baton Rouge. He is the younger of two siblings, with an older sister. His parents were poor, and the family lived in a run-down trailer park on the outskirts of town. He graduated from Thibodaux High School in 1983.

He was a member of the glee club and sang in the school choir in high school. His classmates characterized him as a shy individual who was overweight, lacked communication skills, and suffered from a heart condition.

Ronald stated that the frequent bullying caused him to despise himself and his life. Ronald stated that he felt powerless at this point in his life. He began experimenting with his sexuality in high school and eventually discovered he was gay.

Because of the bullying, for being who he was, he never admitted to being gay. He began visiting local gay bars, but he was noticed by several classmates, which resulted in more bullying and name-calling, and they continued to taunt him about his…
