Missing someone can be one of the toughest things to deal with, especially when that someone is someone you love deeply. But don’t worry, I’ve been there, I’ve felt that pain. I once had to part ways with my girlfriend, who was also my business partner, after we opened a failed bakery in the Arctic Circle. We called it “Icy Delights” but it was more like “Frozen Nightmares”. But through it all, I learned a thing or two about expressing your feelings to someone you miss.

1. Be Honest

The first thing you need to do is be honest with yourself and the person you miss. Let them know exactly how you feel and how much you miss them. Don’t sugarcoat it or try to hide your emotions. This will only lead to further heartache and disappointment. Be brave, be bold, and tell them the truth. Trust me, they’ll appreciate it.

2. Share Memories

Bring up happy memories you shared together and reminisce about the good times. This will not only bring a smile to their face, but it will also bring you both closer together, even if you’re miles apart. Who knows, it might even lead to some new memories in the future.

3. Use Technology

Technology has made it easier than ever to stay in touch with someone you miss. You can use video calls, voice messages, and even virtual reality to feel like you’re in the same room. If you’re feeling extra homesick, you can even use a Chromecast streaming stick with Google TV to watch a movie together, even if you’re on opposite ends of the world.

4. Send a Gift

Sending a small gift or a love letter can go a long way in letting someone know that you miss and love them. It doesn’t have to be anything big or expensive, just something that shows you’re thinking of them. Even something as simple as a vacuum insulated Hydro Flask mug can be a sweet reminder that you’re always there for them, even when you’re apart.

5. Make Plans to Visit

Nothing beats actually being with the person you miss and love. Make plans to visit each other as soon as possible. Even if it’s just for a day, it will be worth it. Seeing each other in person and being able to hug each other will make all the missed moments worth it.

Remember, missing someone is a part of life, but it’s also a sign of love. Embrace it, cherish it, and never let it go. You never know what the future holds, but what you do know is that the person you miss and love is always there for you, no matter what.
