Plastic is a synthetic material made from a wide range of organic polymers such as polyethylene, PVC, nylon, etc., that can be moulded into shape while soft, and then set into a rigid or slightly elastic form.Maharashtra plastic ban: As per the notification, violators will be fined Rs 5,000 and Rs 10,000 for the first and second-time offense. A third-time offender will have to shell out Rs 25,000 and may also face imprisonment for a period of three months. Plastic takes about 1000 years to decompose.As we all know, plastic is harmful to us. It can damage our environment. And proper disposal of plastic is the need of the hour. Plastic is a chemical substance that is long lasting. Hence we need to find out ways and means to dispose of plastic in such a manner that it does not cause any harm to our environment. Plastic is the world’s biggest waste problem. It’s a good initiative that our government has banned the use of plastic to a certain extent and I hope each of us make an effort to use less plastic.
