Misogynist condescension over misogynist crazy: how Kamala Harris is stumping right wing attackers.

In 2016, far-right media outlets were delighted to have former secretary of state and first lady, Hillary Clinton as the Democratic nominee for President. After years of making her out to be a demon who ate babies in a ring of paedophiles their time had finally come.

They had accumulated such a massive warchest of conspiracies and insults against her that the headlines practically wrote themselves.

Now in 2024, Kamala Harris is (basically) the presumptive nominee for the Democratic party. She has already begun facing off against former president Donald Trump for the presidency.

As you’d expect, the far-right media is ramping up attacks against the Vice President but something is different than in 2016.

This cycle, the messages are more silly than cynical, they are mostly attacking simple things like her laugh. They’re not attacking her policies or her record as much as they are calling her a “DEI Hire” — an incredibly racist and sexist claim for the record.
