It’s all about the statistics “they” have to report to higher management. Too many non-white males? No problem. Balance up the figures with the opposite. The stats are used to pressure the staff and/or cover for “performance” stipulations in private sector contracts. Managers routinely tell their staff how to complete/fake/manipulate the performance figures “so that we don’t lose the contract”, G4S at a Young Offenders unit.
