With the Checkra1n jailbreak app on your machine, connect your iPhone or iPad to your computer and launch the app. Your device will be detected by the Checkra1n app. Once it has, choose the Start button and then select Next to proceed. Checkra1n, like pretty much all jailbreaks, relies on the connected device being put into DFU mode. The interface of the app will give you details on how to do that. Keep in mind that this is a required step to be able to proceed. If you are struggling with DFU Mode, then you can also follow the guides below to give yourself a little more help:

iPhone 8 / 8 Plus, iPhone X / XR / XS / XS Max / 11 / 11 Pro / 11 Pro Max, or 2018 iPad Pro owners can follow this guide.
iPhone 7 / 7 Plus owners: Enter DFU Mode On iPhone 7 Or iPhone 7 Plus, Here’s How
If you have an iPhone 6s / 6s Plus or any other iPad, then follow the instructions here.
Keep in mind that if you are unable to get the device into DFU mode, then the process will simply fail. On the plus side, once the device has been put into DFU Mode, Checkra1n will automatically start the process. Step away from the device for a while and let it go about its business.

Once the device restrings, you will see the checkra1n app sitting pretty on your device Home screen. Finally, launch the checkra1n app that is now listed on your iPhone or iPad Home screen. You will see the brand-new Loader screen from which you will need to select Cydia install it. The device will respring again and you will be left with immediate access to a jailbroken device running Cydia.
