The use of fax machines for business purposes started in 1865 and after 11 years, the telephone was invented. The first fax system was demonstrated in 1902. Fax machines are still used today, but due to changing technology, fax machines are on the decline and there is no future for them.

How to fax

Have you ever tried to understand how Fax Mahine works, what happens within this machine, let us know further.

1. To send Fax, you have to first place the page in the input slot and by doing this it will be pulled in through several pairs of rollers. Large fax machines have built-in document feeders that automatically feed multiple pages from a stack, for this you will not have to feed pages to the machine manually.

2. As the paper goes in, a bright light shines inside. White areas of the page reflect very light, while black areas reflect very little.

3. It is carried off from the light page in a light-detecting CCD (charged-coupled device).

4. This CCD replaces the analog pattern of the page which is black and white areas of binary zeros and ones in a numeric (digital) pattern, together they pass the information to an electronic circuit.

5. This circuit then sends digital information from the telephone line to the fax machine at the receiving end.

6. When you receive a fax, the same circuit accepts incoming digital information from the phone line and routes into a built-in printer.

7. In a typical personal fax machine, paper is pulled from a large roll within the machine. (In a large office fax machine, it actually comes from a plain-paper hopper, as in a laser printer.)

8. Then this thermal (heat-based) printer, which is operated by this curcuit, reproduces the incoming fax in a paper as it moves.

9. Finally an automatic blade cuts the page and the printed fax exits through the output slot.

If you have noticed, then you can think that there are actually two separate machines in a machine: one is a fax-sender and the other is a fax-receiver. When you use a fax machine to quickly extract “ photocopies “ of documents, then the two machines link up together: in exchange for sending the fax to the down phone line, this circuit reroute that scanned data. Directly near the printer, from which you get a copy of the original document.
