You certainly covered many bases surrounding the multi-faceted issue of violence. I understand your confusion about gender-specific conventions regarding the acceptability of violence (it’s acceptable for man-t0-man, but woman-to-man is much more scorned upon). I consider myself a pacifist, and though I may get the urge to punch some people in the face — usually just men who cat call and harass me on the street- I understand that by perpetrating more harm, I am only allowing a negative cycle to continue. This allows me to let go of the urge to be violent and understand that I’d rather perpetuate peace and break that cycle. Thanks for a thought-provoking read.
