New Perspectives

During the COVID-19 lock down for 3 months, I tried to read around 27 non-fiction books. Each of these were based on multiple recommendations.
Some of my observations during this concentrated reading period:

  1. The older books carry more wisdom and knowledge. There is a reason why generation after generation, people have found them useful.
  2. Most books tell everything in the first 80–100 pages. Beyond that it is mostly a repetition.
  3. Reading the same book again after 3 years gives you new perspectives. That is why some books need to be re-read again.
  4. It’s OK to flip a book or just read the first chapter to find if it is interesting. You will not find all the books interesting.
  5. Read as much as you can. if you get bored, just stop and move on to the next book. Don’t have an obligation to finish.
