New Perspectives
During the COVID-19 lock down for 3 months, I tried to read around 27 non-fiction books. Each of these were based on multiple recommendations.
Some of my observations during this concentrated reading period:
- The older books carry more wisdom and knowledge. There is a reason why generation after generation, people have found them useful.
- Most books tell everything in the first 80–100 pages. Beyond that it is mostly a repetition.
- Reading the same book again after 3 years gives you new perspectives. That is why some books need to be re-read again.
- It’s OK to flip a book or just read the first chapter to find if it is interesting. You will not find all the books interesting.
- Read as much as you can. if you get bored, just stop and move on to the next book. Don’t have an obligation to finish.
