waxing moon {blue}
you are inside one year of my gradual descent into a life i never meant

you are inside the rows and lines of my swallowed up and overwhelmed disappearing
you are inside the measures of solitude that swam through, seeking some thing unnamed

you are inside the Fall, the spiraling colors, the diving greens
you are inside the dead December, when morning left and the star rose
you are catching gleams of its glitter every few weeks

you are inside the stone i carried with me through Spring
you are tilting the rainbow, spooling its milkiness around my mirror in rings

you are inside the dining room table in my mother’s house
you are marbling the pitch
and i am marveling behind

this is not the first time i have seen the blue

but this is the first time the blues have drifted to me, in secret notes, in so many silent slips of paper

this is what i remember:
the prologue of plenty
the gratitude gathering & accumulating brilliance

the practice of care, of consuming contentment, slowly, sacredly
the slide of a beginning and the deepening of the blues
