What The Future Holds for the Compete Community

Throughout the course of any company’s growth, change is inevitable. You create, you test, you adapt — all in an effort to best serve your community. Our Compete Every Day community is no different.

After a powerful weekend at Keith Yackey’s Amplifed Life, my entire perspective was shifted in ways we needed to serve our community — but had not effectively done so to this point in our 5 1/2 year history. I’m excited things that you have to look forward to this fall. I would love for you to take a few moments, visit the website www.CompeteForYour.Life — it is the one place you can find all the ways that you can get even more connected and dialed into this amazing community.

Before I tell you what we are about to start doing, let me tell you why we are doing it.

For those that don’t know me, my name is Jake Thompson. I am the Chief Encouragement Officer here at Compete Every Day. I have met number of you. I have had the joy to interact with a ton of you, online and offline. Everything that is coming is so exciting because I’ll have even more opportunities to engage you, to hear why you compete, who you compete for and all the amazing things that you are currently doing — or competing to do in the future.

Why did I start Compete Every Day? To be honest, I started it back in May of 2011 after wasting my early 20s of giving into fear, seriously. I lost out on so many opportunities because I believed the lies that fear would tell me. They kept me in neutral. Instead of going out and actively competing for my life and pursuing things, I was stuck in neutral. I waited for the perfect time. A “perfect time” that we all know doesn’t exist. I waited for success to come to me. It never does.

I look back now in really almost embarrassment about how many things I gave up, how many things I missed out on, because I believed the lies that fear told me. And then one day, I said no more.

I started toying with this idea of competing every day and applying the principles that I had learned in high school sports and college of how I can translate that sense of competition to my life, to my health, to my relationships, to my goals. What if I pursue those important things each and every day? Out of this search for purpose, Compete Every Day was born.

This is never been about the apparel. The t-shirts are great. I love creating shirts and I love seeing people wearing them. But at the end of the day, the whole point of this brand is to remind you of what you are capable of, and that is greatness, to encourage you to pursue it relentlessly each and every day, and above all, to remember that your life is always worth competing for.

What we are about to start doing is really taking the focus on how we can help you better compete for your life in all aspects.

One of the first things that you will find out is that we have completely revamped our weekly newsletter. You are going to see more and more original content on how you can apply to compete mindset to your daily life. How to set a goal so big that other people laugh and then create daily action steps to reach that goal? How do you keep pursuing forward and pressing onward when things become difficult? How do we maintain that positive mindset?

All of these things are things we are going to cover each and every week in our newsletter. The most important thing, and the one thing I am more excited about than anything else, is our newly launched Facebook group. If you haven’t checked it out yet, I encourage you to go to facebook.com/groups/competeeveryday.

The whole purpose of this group is to encourage, equip, & connect you with opportunities & resources that will help you better pursue your goals and compete for your life.

We believe this group is a safe place that will provide encouragement from a thriving community of competitors who are trying to do the same thing in their own life.

We will equip you. Inside this group we are really going to dive into some of these tools and resources on how to compete every day for your life.

And third, to connect — to connect you with other people that are on a path for greatness in their own life.

You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with. Some of us are very fortunate and blessed to be surrounded by amazing people. Others of us are struggling to find that people to look to that can encourage us, that can challenge us, that can help us to grow stronger and better in life. This group will become that place for you.

It is already been amazing to see the feedback and engagement with the people in there and I am really encouraging you to dive in head first into the deep end of the pool and start talking and getting connected with other people.

Finally, coming up in the next few weeks, you are going to see opportunities to sign up for our new 21-day challenge. Many of you participated in this two years ago and we dropped the ball on not repeating it multiple times throughout the year. So it’s coming back. We have updated its content and outlined a step-by-step plan to help you over a 21-day period outline a goal and create the daily habits you are going to need to reach that goal.

I am thankful for each and every one of you that make this community great. If you like our Facebook page, if you follow us on Twitter, if you engage with us on Instagram, know how much that means to myself and our entire team. We are thankful for you and we are here to serve you.

We want to see you win. We want to see you compete for your best life.

I hope you will check out www.CompeteForYour.Life and find out how you can get better connected in the community. And most of all, keep competing.
