College is Crazy
This semester is going by quicker than I could have imagined. We are eight weeks into a semester that feels like it has only just begun. Where has the time gone?
I feel that college is designed to be hectic and crazy. Every three months a college student’s life is flipped upside down. Class, work, and student organization schedules have to change and don’t even get me started on trying to meet with classmates for group projects. College is not like the real world, where people can get settled into routine, college is a time to really test your time management skills.
What would happen if semesters were more structured?
Would students get more done if they could settle into a routine?
Finding and sticking to a routine is difficult. I want to get to bed at 11 pm every night and then the Intramural office schedules our team for a 10:30 basketball game on a Wednesday. I always have control over when I wake up but sacrificing sleep is not a top priority of mine. Truthfully, the way college is set up right now is perfect for me. The ability to adapt every semester and to change my routine has been good for me. The question is not necessarily for me though.
Personally, would you get more done if your entire schedule didn’t change every 3 months?
