#2 is Tired of Being #2

Kyrie Irving hit one of the biggest shots in the last decade. He hit a clutch three pointer in Steph Curry’s face in Game 7 of the 2016 NBA Finals. Ultimately, it did not trump the block heard ‘round the world. The Cavaliers won the Finals and LeBron James was crowned the MVP, deservedly.

Kyrie, being the elite all star that he is, wants to be the focal point. He is sick of playing Robin to LeBron’s Batman. With that being said, he asked the front office for a trade. This shook the basketball world, you know, because the Cavaliers are Eastern Conference favorites and fully expect to be as long as they have LeBron James.

So why would Irving want to leave a championship caliber team? Instability, and of course wanting to be the focal point. James is expected to leave Cleveland next year and the front office in Cleveland hasn’t exactly been stable.

Here are some possible destinations for Kyrie Irving:

  • MIAMI HEAT
  • MINNESOTA TIMBERWOLVES
  • NEW YORK KNICKS
  • SAN ANTONIO SPURS
  • BOSTON CELTICS

Tim Duncan, the Next Connor McGregor?

The Big Fundamental was seen sparring in a 29 second video posted on Echols Fitness’ Facebook page on Wednesday. This begs the question, will we ever see the 41 year old 7-footer compete again?

Probably not but it is certainly fun to witness Tim’s slow, long arms swinging at another human being. If you get a chance, check it out!

Brandon Who?

Brandon Jennings, former Washington Wizard, has agreed to a deal with China Shanxi of the Chinese Basketball Association today. The deal is worth $1.5 million over one-year.

Jennings STRUGGLED last season with the Wizards. He averaged 3.5 points in just over 16 minutes. He shot an astounding 27% from the field in 23 games played. Needless to say, he wasn’t getting a job in the NBA with those numbers.

His new teammates will include Ty Lawson and Luis Scola…..

If you were curious (you aren’t), here is a link to his new team, the China Shanxi Brave Dragons:

Hock’s Hot Takes

  • Kyrie Irving realizes that he needs LeGoat James and he decides that he wants to stay.
  • Tim Duncan doesn’t pursue an MMA career although he fits the profile.
  • Carmelo Anthony becomes a Houston Rocket.
  • Brandon Jennings still doesn’t shoot any better than 27% in the Chinese Basketball League.
