After my second week of the broadcast assistant internship I have been creating step by step instructions for working with ISIS and starting new projects on Final Cut Pro, which has helped me refresh my knowledge with both as well. I have also been refreshing my memory, and learning new things when it comes to operating the camera and equipment as well in my free time. These are a few of the things that I have learned so far while doing the first two weeks of the internship. I expect to learn much more as the weeks go on.
As far as challenges I have faced so far there have not been many. I worked together with Taylor to catalog the equipment, and put this information into a spread sheet. This task would have been significantly more difficult had Taylor or I done it by ourselves. Other challenges that that have come up mostly involve me having to re-familiarize myself with ISIS and Final Cut Pro in order to create an in depth and helpful instructions for both programs.
This experience so far has related to my future career in the way that I am familiarizing myself with equipment and programs that I may use in a future career path. It is good that I am able to get to know how to use the cameras better than I have in the past, this could help me in future video projects by allowing me to be familiar with the equipment I will be using, and knowing how to operate that equipment. In past experiences I have had trouble setting up the audio input on the cameras which ended in me getting bad audio for my video project. Now that I have figured out how to set up the audio input correctly I do not see this happening again in the future.
