Going JPEG

It’s a psychological problem for me — focussing on the result, rather than the process. I wanted to make great photographs and my habit is to do this sitting at my desk. But I don’t think the desk is where the magic happens, or shouldn’t be (for a photographer).
I experience this same thought process. Photography in its prime, for me, is when I’m out exploring and capturing the images. Back at the beginning of my experiences I always enjoyed editing and publishing, but now it just feels like a convoluted, unnecessary process. This is why I enjoy shooting film; I go out and look for the image, rarely doing any post-processing. Some say shooting JPEG is limiting but aren’t prime lenses also fairly limiting?
