Grime is a sort of rap that emerged in East London in the early 2000s. It developed out of earlier UK electronic music styles, including UK garage and jungle, and also draws influence from Jamaican dancehall, reggae, and hip-hop.

The most famous grime artist are the british Michael Omari better known as Stormzy. He is the hottest grime artist alive and just released a new album called “Gang Signs and Prayer”. GSAP went straight up the UK charges. He is sponsored by Adidas and has performed on BRITS Awards in 2016.

Another great british grimer is Skepta who grew up in London. As young he listened to reggae and was very shy. Now he is one of the most hardcore grimers, living in the streets of London.

Grime represents the street culture in UK and some grime artist are linked up with football teams. Stormzy is a big Manchester United fan, while Skepta is fan of Tottenham.
