coxWhen it comes to keeping a journal, stereotypes of Sweet Valley High and Napoleon Dynamite quickly come to mind; “Dear diary” is reserved for the high-school sweetheart or awkward recluse. Others see writing merely as a tool, a pragmatic means to an end, certainly without value in and of itself.
But science continues to dissolve skepticism. For those sitting on the fence, these 10 benefits of journaling will convince you to start writing.
- Stretching Your IQ
A highly discussed topic at the moment. Strong cases support that journaling enable you with the ability to change your IQ. A study covered by the University of Victoria noted that: “writing as part of language learning has a positive correlation with intelligence.”
Journaling is an exploration of language, you’ll have the natural urge to search for new words and increase your vocabulary. The report goes on to say, “One of the best single measures of overall intelligence as measured by intelligence tests is vocabulary.”
2. Evoking Mindfulness
Mindfulness, a buzz word at the moment. Scientific evidens support the strong correlation that exist between happiness and mindfulness. Mindfulness is the basic human ability to be fully present, aware of where and what we’re doing, and not overly reactive or overwhelmed by what’s going on around us. Journaling takes you to the state of exploring mindfulness. Past frustrations and future anxieties tend to lose their edge in the moment of present.

It calls a wandering mind to attention, from passivity to actively engaging with your deepest thoughts.
3. Achieving Goals
When you journal you often reflect about your dreams, goals and ambitions. Reflecting about these elements actively signals to your brain that this is important and truly means something to you.
Your reticular activating system then flags relevant opportunities and tools to achieve that goal. More dictating goals provide a psychological blueprint, and therefore increases the likelihood of achieving them.
4. Emotional Intelligence

6. Strengthen Your Self-Discipline

Setting time aside to write, whether morning or evening, is an act of discipline. And discipline begets discipline. Like a muscle, the more you exercise it, the stronger it becomes. And habits formed in one area of life have a tendency to spread; as keeping your office clean leads to keeping the bedroom tidy, your daily practice of writing will domino onto other healthy habits.
7. Improve Communication Skills
“Writing has critical connections to speaking” according to a Stanford report. Journaling is a form of written communication, albeit to oneself. Nonetheless, the subvocalization of tracing your written thoughts naturally translates in actual vocalization.
Of course, anyone journaling must have a deliberate aim to tidy up their writing in order to see benefits in their verbal communication. But making that decision during writing will benefit your speaking.
8. Healing
Expressive writing is a route to healing — emotionally, physically, and psychologically. Dr. James Pennebaker, author of Writing to Heal has seen improved immune function in participants of writing exercises. Stress often comes from emotional blockages, and overthinking hypotheticals. He explains, “When we translate an experience into language we essentially make the experience graspable.” And in doing so, you free yourself from mentally being tangled in traumas.
Studies have also shown that the emotional release from journaling lowers anxiety, stress, and induces better sleep.

You have to be “good” with yourself before you can truly be “good” to others. To be selfish means that you are true to yourself first. Once you are completely true to yourself then you can be true to others. When you truly understand yourself you are able to understand what you can give to others and the people you are giving to can take your selflessness for all the right reasons.
You should always follow your heart, but also take into account what your brain has to say, to make you the most happy.
Before we are even born, our parents biases and beliefs are downloaded to us. We become indoctrinated by the influential people in our life such as our family, friends, teachers and coaches. We tend to fall into the trap of obeying others rather than questioning and thinking for ourselves.
Your world is your consciousness objectified. Your life is what you make it. Your life will change the moment you decide it is time to change, it’s that simple.
“It’s true that in life, we attract what we constantly think about. For us to live a positive, productive life, we must think positive, productive thoughts. If you have been living in a cycle of negativity for a long time, it can feel like you have lost the power over your own thoughts, but that’s not the case. It’s easy to fall into a reactionary mode, allowing life to just happen to you, while giving away your power to create. You must decide to take back control of your mind and with it, your life!”
Practice the art of mindfulness and see your thoughts for exactly what they are, just a thought. Choose to let the negative ones go, while dwelling and giving power only to those that will allow you to grow spiritually, mentally, and emotionally.
“There is little incentive to improve ourselves when life is nothing but rainbows, cute puppy dogs, candy drops, and sunshine. Have you ever learned much about yourself during the best of times? Struggles aren’t fun when they are happening, but they tend to be some of the most important periods of our lifes.”

The more we act, the more we get clear on things. So instead of overthinking it — Will this work out? Should I try that? What if I don’t like it? What if I don’t make money at it? Start taking steps toward your goals and start trying new things. This will help you get out of your own way.”
“Flowers and candy are neither good nor bad because, as Shakespeare rightly pointed out, we are the ones who ascribe meaning to them. Flowers can be wonderful when a man gives them to a woman when he asks her to marry him. They can also signify profound sadness when displayed at a funeral. Always try and keep an open-mind and broaden your perspective.”
“All we need to learn from every little wrong turn our lives took up until this present moment, is to let go of the past, relax and focus on learning to pay attention to life. We need to focus more on reading the signs that are sent our way, on learning to pay attention to life and learn the mysterious language of the Universe and be patient that what needs to happen, the right thing, will take place in its own time without our own intervention, without us forcing it.”
Please realize that what you focus on and what you think of becomes your reality. Control of your life starts with controlling your mind by regulating the thoughts that you choose to dwell upon.
Please realise that as individuals, each one of us has an enormous potential. But in order to realise it, we must follow the path of our choosing, and not the path society wants us to choose.
“Here’s to another chance for us to laugh, to fall, and get back up again, to be swept off our feet, to be left speechless, to care and be cared for, to be all that it means to be human (and so much more), and to reach for our dreams once more, whatever they may be.”

Sometimes people can focus so much on other lives, they become envious of their own lives. Knowing yourself better will help you know what path you need to take. It will help you make decisions that will help you on that path.

We all have a picture in our heads of how we think our lives should go. We plan it out perfectly in our minds, laying out what seems to us to be the ideal plan for our lives — but it never sticks. Change is inevitable — a constant, ongoing process in our lives. We should try to accept change as it is, not fight to resist it.
Honor your feelings — Difficult emotions are part of the human experience. Be secure in your vulnerability. Real strength is not pretending not to feel; it’s the courage to know our feelings are OK.
When you’ve had a setback it’s very easy to start thinking that you will always keep failing in this area of your life. It’s easy to start thinking that YOU are indeed a failure. Don’t fall for such a destructive and sometimes seductive self-fulfilling prophecy. We sometimes think of failure as a sign of weakness and can even come to regret ever taking that leap of faith. Well, contrary to this belief, a number of highly successful achievers often credit a failure or two, to their success. Go out and fail — it means you are winning.
You have to be “good” with your self before you can truly be “good” to others. To be selfish means that you are true to yourself first. Once you are completely true to yourself then you can be true to others. When you truly understand yourself you are able to understand what you can give to others and the people you are giving to can take your selflessness for all the right reasons.
Before we are even born, our parents biases and beliefs are downloaded to us. We become indoctrinated by the influential people in our life such as our family, friends, teachers and coaches. We tend to fall into the trap of obeying others rather than questioning and thinking for ourselves.
Life truly is unpredictable — We can’t control what happens to us but we can control the way we deal with it, the way we deal with any event that take place in our path. It all comes down to how we face life — do we face it passively or actively? Do we face it positively or negatively? How we approach life really is binary.
throw off the bowlines, sail away from safe harbor, catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore, dream, discover.
Everyone actually thinks independently, everyone has their own unique thoughts. It’s literally impossible not to. It’s just that some things prevent people from accessing and expanding those independent thought — figuring out why that is happening is essential for you. Cultivate your own way of thinking and stop living your life by the principles of other people’s opinion of you. Stop doing what you are forced or told to and start finding what you love. Stop focusing on becoming something what others want you to be. Do something, you want to do.
Think of your life as a journey with an unknown destination. We all have a feeling and an idea of where we want to go and possibly how we want to get there but the reality is we don’t know what will happen. The only way you can affect the unknown is to constantly be experimenting.
What you are afraid to look at has power of you. What you confront loses its power. Sometimes simply just reflecting about our fears makes them seem less scary. The act of actually acknowledging them takes their power away — when we don’t acknowledge them they sort of float around in the back of our mind as something we can’t quite define, and often seem to be much bigger than they really are.
Nowadays we are being taught to be someone, when we actually should be taught to be something. Something we would love to do. Something that we will be happy doing day after day after day.
Please realise that as individuals, each one of us has an enormous potential. But in order to realise it, we must follow the path of our choosing, and not the path society wants us to choose — Reflectly is a powerful tool to help us analyze where we are, where we want to go and give us the courage to take actions from our thoughts and intuition.
Self-awareness is about understanding your own personal needs, desires, failings, habits, and everything else that makes you tick. The more you know about yourself, the better you are at adapting life changes that suit your needs. Journaling enhances your thinking because it eliminates the mental noise. It offers new perspectives and brings things together.
This is so true. It’s so important to realize that nothing will happen until you make the commitment with yourself to take this first step — whatever you are trying to accomplish. The reason why we put a personal journal on such a pedestal is that it gives you the inner strength needed to actually get you to believe in yourself.
“Wonder” refers to the initial spark of thought that awakens in all of us when we start questioning “what is”. Before we are even born, our parents biases and beliefs are downloaded to us. We become indoctrinated by the influential people in our life such as our family, friends, teachers and coaches. We tend to fall into the trap of obeying others rather than questioning and thinking for ourselves.
The more we act, the more we get clear on things. So instead of overthinking it — Will this work out? Should I try that? What if I don’t like it? Start taking steps toward your goals and start trying new things. This will help you get out of your own way and eventually getting ahead.
Please realize that if there is something you don’t like about or in your life, then change it. How do you do that? it starts with breaking some of your traditional patterns. You have power over your mind realize this and it will become the path to happiness.
We all have weaknesses and we all have strengths — It’s important to know and accept your weaknesses but please focus all your energy on yours strengths. So many try to compensate for their weaknesses instead of just cultivating their strengths.
“Fear is not real. The only place that fear can exist is in our thoughts of the future. It is a product of our imagination, causing us to fear things that do not at present and may not ever exist. Do not misunderstand me danger is very real, but fear is a choice.” — One should not let the past happenings bother much, or worry about what the future holds for oneself. Because neither is as important as the strength of character a person have that will help one overcome both the past demons and future worries.
All we need to learn from every little wrong turn our lives took up until this present moment, is to let go of the past, relax and focus on learning to pay attention to life. We need to focus more on reading the signs that are sent our way, on learning to pay attention to life and learn the mysterious language of the Universe and be patient that what needs to happen, the right thing, will take place in its own time without our own intervention, without us forcing it.
Who you spend time with on a daily basis have so much impact on your happiness — It’s important to realise that some people in your life will try and hold you back, and if you start to listen to them, you will one day look back with regret. Always try to add people that tries to focus on the negatives and be aware of the people in your life that always focus on the negative — Yes, you know who they are.
The more attention we give what has gone wrong, the bigger the problem grows in our mind. The more our mind fills with problems, the less space we have for the positive elements of life. Focusing on the good in your life will make you feel calmer and will enable you to find solutions to your problems. Even after keeping a journal for just a few days, you should start to notice positive changes in your mind and body.
You can only make the most of life if you learn to live in the present by applying the lessons from your yesterday and hoping for a better tomorrow.
One of the main reason why you might feel uncomfortable with yourself is because you compare yourself to others. People that are comfortable with themselves don’t feel the need to compare themselves to others — getting to this place comes down to selfwareness. Once you figure out who you really are and what you are about then you will be less likely to feel shaken up by what other people are doing — keeping a journal is one of the most powerful tools to actually increase your knowledge about yourself.
We have all been there. We keep doing the same things and still expect some sort of different outcome — when it happens we have to slow down, take a deep breath, and think. If there is a will there’s a way. It just has to be a different way.
Your perceptions are in fact your reality and your perceptions do in fact influence everything.
A smile conveys feelings of happiness, hope and positivity to anyone who sees it. When you smile, you are sending a message of joy to both yourself and all the people around you.
We love this quote because the way we approach life is binary — The mindset of either believing everything is a miracle or believing nothing is a miracle will determine how you approach difficulties and how you approach life in general. How do you look at life?
Finding the motivation to change means maintaining your efforts consistently when it would be easy to give up
When you’re keeping a journal, you already have the past taken care of. You’re actually living events — both the good and the bad three times: when they happen, when you experience them, and when you reflect upon them in your personal space. This is why it is so powerful to use your journal to let go of the things that you just need to let go of.
Kindness originates from the simple act of doing no harm to others. The benefits of kindness includes increased happiness, improves your personal relationship and research even shows that it influences the giver more than the receiver. How do you start being kind? The first step is to start judging less no matter how compelled you feel to do so.
It’s so important to understand the importance of self-acceptance. Self-acceptance allow you to search for your truth from within. Self-acceptance will lead to a self-directed path — the only path that can lead to true happiness and contentment.
Please realise that as individuals, each one of us has an enormous potential. But in order to realise it, we must follow the path of our choosing, and not the path society wants us to choose. You have to be you and can’t let anybody change that.
Don’t look back on mistakes. Don’t look back on the loss. Step forward. Push forward. Climb those mountains without hesitation this time. Fall and fail and try again. Don’t give up and never lose faith in yourself. You can only make the most of life if you learn to live in the present by applying the lessons from your yesterday and hoping for a better tomorrow.
Control of your life starts with controlling your mind by regulating the thoughts that you choose to dwell upon.
It’s important to realise that some people in your life will try and hold you back, and if you start to listen to them, you will one day look back with regret. You will be judged no matter what you do. People can and will only see things from their level of perception — so just do you.
First of all we have to remember that most fears are irrational and unreasonable. Sometimes simply just reflecting about our fears makes them seem less scary. Not only can a journal be a place where we store important information, record quotes or sayings that move us, but it’s also a powerful tool to help us analyze where we are, where we want to go and give us the courage to take actions from our thoughts.
Albert Einstein defined insanity as doing the same thing over and over again and still expecting different results. If there is something you don’t like about your life, then you need to find the inner power to do something different. How do you do that? it starts with breaking some of your traditional patterns.
Kindness and empathy involves understanding and responding empathetically to the needs and desires of others as well as your own. If you truly understand how others feel and in fact feel the same emotions, it would be very difficult if not impossible to respond to others with hostility or cruelty. Please take these two traits with you and remember them the next time you find yourself judging someone else.
Stephen Hawking was diagnosed with ALS in the age of 21. He was told that he wouldn’t survive more than two years — he managed to celebrate his 76th birthday. He never recovered from his disease and it made him physically weak in time, but what kept him going was his willingness to work from the mind. When everyone had lost hope then Stephen had a dream that he was going to be executed and he believed this disease helped him to become one of the most respected scientists ever — he simply refused to close his mind. Stephen Hawking will forever remain an inspiration: a man who can’t move, or talk, but still make wonders.
We all know that life is full of extreme circumstances and that we from time to time we’ll be in a bad mood, suffer or be stressed. We can’t control what happens to us even though we all wish we could, that simply just isn’t the case — but we can promise you that if we are in balance as a human and we sort of understand and “master” our own mind, we will all be equipped and prepared to handle whatever challenges, problems and troubles life throws at us. Tag someone who needs to hear this.
“You get in life what you want, rather than what you expect.” Optimism comes from the Latin word optimus, meaning “best,” which describes how an optimistic person always looks for the best in any situation and expects good things to happen. There is so many studies concluding the benefits of being an optimist instead of an pessimist. Life is so binary….. please approach it from a positive perspective.
Everything is perfect for us in this moment if we accept that imperfection is a learning experience. You were born to make mistakes not to fake perfection. Tag someone who needs to hear this.
Kindness is ultimately a key contributor to happiness. Acting with kindness is a win-win. Not only can it provide someone with a sense of pride by acting kindly towards others, but it also has the potential to boost the confidence and provoke bliss in those around us. Kindness and empathy involves understanding and responding empathetically to the needs and desires of others as well as your own.
Cultivate your own way of thinking and stop living your life by the principles of other people’s opinion of you. Stop doing what you are forced or told to and start finding what you love. Stop focusing on becoming something what others want you to be. Do something, you want to do.
Perceive means “to become aware of through the senses” — Since all of what we know we have either heard about it or seen it, our knowledge is simply an aggregate of all our perceptions. Always try and keep an open-mind and broaden your perspective.
The more you know about yourself, the better you are at adapting life changes that suit your needs.
Don’t look back on mistakes. Don’t look back on the loss. Step forward. Push forward. Climb those mountains without hesitation this time. Fall and fail and try again. Don’t give up and never lose faith in yourself.
What we think of ourselves is often also what we think of the world. Everything that we are portraying of the world comes from out thoughts. Situations in life is just something that occurs but we give them meaning. Flowers and candy are neither good nor bad because, we are the ones who ascribe meaning to them. Flowers can be wonderful when a man gives them to a woman when he asks her to marry him. They can also signify profound sadness when displayed at a funeral. Always try and keep an open-mind and broaden your perspective.
“Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets burned.” When you are angry, your emotions get agitated, your blood pressure goes up, you become impatient and irritable, and you lose control over your actions and reactions. Anger hides common sense and reason, and makes you say and do things, which will only aggravate the situation. Whom do you punish when you are angry? You punish yourself.
“Optimism, hope and positivity are all important ideas that have the ability to make our lives better. Hope is not your typical form of positivity. Most positive emotions arise when we feel safe and satiated. Hope is the exception. It comes into play when our circumstances are dire — things are not going well or at least there’s considerable uncertainty about how things will turn out. Hope arises precisely within those moments when fear, hopelessness or despair seem just as likely. Hope literally opens us up. It removes the blinders of fear and despair and allows us to see the big picture. We become creative, unleashing our dreams for the future.”
Reminding yourself about some of your own core beliefs and values can be a great place to start. It’s a way to release tension and truly remember why you do what you do. Keeping a journal will allow you to reflect on the past and the present while preparing for the future. And as a result, it allows you to erase your frustrations, reduce your stress and optimize your motivation and inspiration to chase your dreams.
To answer this question the most common thing to say is “Well… just follow your passion.” It’s such an easy thing to say. When you found something you love and others ask you how they can find it too, you just say “Follow your passion” and think it’s great advice. But really, its bullshit. Follow your passion doesn’t mean anything. Because what if I don’t have a passion yet? I mean what is my passion? Do I need to have one? Is finding your passion a one way street? Telling someone to “Follow their passion” essentially is just a different way of saying “Well I don’t know, it’s your problem lol”. What you should focus on instead is asking the right questions. Stop searching for your passion and just start doing things you like. It’s easy to do things you like, because you just do them.
“Don’t take life too seriously. You will never get out of it alive.” Laughter is one of the first things you do as a newborn, and, if all goes well, it will be one of the last things you do before you die. Humor should play a central role in our daily lifes and can be used to make others feel good, to gain intimacy or to help buffer stress.
Please realize that you are in control — You have the ability and right to decide your thoughts and reactions to anything and everything that happens in your life. From the intense and major to the mundane and seemingly innocuous, you decide how you react to everything and, more importantly, everybody.
“Pain is inevitable; suffering is optional.” — Understanding the difference between pain and suffering is so important. Suffering is the “extra” that our mind adds to an already painful situation — you can compare it to putting butter on top of whipped cream. It is at this very point, when your mind starts to fiddle with the pain and grief, that you have the possibility of doing things differently.
Often we lack perspective when it comes to our problems. By taking a step out of our own head and take a look at it from an objective perspective we will often find that our so called “big problems” are actually not that big. The most effective way to this is through a journal. When we journal about our problems we take our problems out of our head, which creates “space” for finding solutions and we can start to move on.
“Everything you’ve ever wanted is on the other side of fear” — What you are afraid to look at has power of you.
Believe it or not, change is not bad. Change is inevitable — a constant, ongoing process in our lives. We should try to accept change as it is, not fight to resist it. We fear change because we fear the unknown. We know what we like, so if anything different comes along, even if it’s better, we are ready to reject it. Let this be the moment you start to accept and even embrace change — there are far better things ahead than any we leave behind.
We all have problems — some of them are small but some make you want to bury your head in the sand and just try to forget about them. However doing so wont help you at all. You need to look you problems straight in the eye and deal with them in order to eradicate them. Fear of the unknown has a way of stealing our courage if we are facing something difficult.
There really isn’t anything we cannot do — the choices and opportunities are endless. Everything you see in the world was someone’s thought, dream or vision. It all starts in our heads. So use that magnificent brain of yours and get your feet in your shoes — you can steer yourself in any direction you choose and don’t let anything you. Embrace the challenges and you’ll learn things about yourself on your incredible journey.
The past, though existing a series of dates and events, is just as fluid as the future. How we see our past can change drastically, but that is what makes the future so exciting. It not only provides possibility but can also change the way we see our past.
So many of us believe the lie that we can’t change and that we are worthless. Self-depreciation is a form of self-sabotage. Negative thoughts will fuel negative outcomes thinking that you are gonna mess up, is the quickest way to do just that. Fortunately the opposite is also true — postive thoughts will lead to positive outcomes. When we believe in ourselves, we all have a tendency to rise to the occasion — there is so much power in confidence and knowing that we are enough. Remember that we are all so much stronger than we know.
“If you want happiness for an hour, take a nap. If you want happiness for a day, go fishing. If you want happiness for a year, inherit a fortune. If you want happiness for a lifetime, help somebody.” Scientific research provides compelling data to support the anecdotal evidence that giving is a powerful pathway to personal growth and lasting happiness. Don’t get it wrong. Giving and giving doesn’t always lead to happiness and fulfilment. It can sometimes make you feel taken care of — You need to find an approach where you gain more purpose, meaning and happiness the more you give.
Stop living your life by the principles of other people. Stop doing what you are forced or told to and start finding what you love. Stop focusing on becoming something what others want you to be. Do something, you want to do.
When you’re keeping a journal, you already have the past taken care of. You’re actually living events — both the good and the bad three times: when they happen, when you experience them, and when you reflect upon them in your personal space. This is why it is so powerful to use your journal to let go of the things that you just need to let go of and enable yourself to focus all of your energy on building the future.
It’s so important to realize that we are all in much more control of our own destiny than we think. It’s easy to fall into a reactionary mode, allowing life to just happen to you, while giving away your power to create it. You must decide to take back control of your mind and with it, your life.
When it comes to relationships, we are greatly influenced — whether we like it or not — by those closest to us. It affects our way of thinking, our self-esteem, and our decisions. You need to audit who you spend time with. If anyone in your inner circle brings you down you need to take a step away from them — it needs to be the first step in your journey toward a more positive life.
Ego = “An unhealthy belief in our own importance. Arrogance. Self-centered ambition.” Life is full of ups and downs and our ego is always sitting in the dark, waiting to strike. Our ego will always be a part of us. It’s our inner beast, which is why we need to learn how to control it or otherwise it will start to control us instead. Unlike confidence, the ego operates out of self-interest. It has one objective, which is to be “right”, which is also why it is resistant to any form of feedback — It’s simply the single biggest obstacle from achieving whatever you are trying to achieve.
Cultivate your own way of thinking and stop living your life by the principles of other people’s opinion of you. Stop doing what you are forced or told to and start finding what you love. Stop focusing on becoming something what others want you to be. Do something, you want to do.
Visually we see things and people that catches our eye but when we feel our emotions stirring — that beauty is felt “within” you. This is true with words or music we hear as well. When what we see or hear makes a difference in how it moves you emotionally — your heart is being touched by that beauty. The purpose of it to encourages you to find a deeper meaning, and to go beyond the superficial and the materialistic.
“Compare yourself to who you were yesterday, not to who someone else is today.” You might often think that most if not everyone is better than you are. What you need to remember is that you are only seeing the image they portray to others. Just try and think about it — you are comparing yourself to others based on their highlights reel. You know every single intimate flaw of yourself and you only know the highlights of the other person — it doesn’t make any sense to compare yourself to that. Please stop that now. The reason why we compare ourselves to others is because we care about a fake narrative of our social status. Let me say it again: it only makes sense to compare yourself to who you were yesterday. Have a great week!
Cultivate your own way of thinking and stop living your life by the principles of other people’s opinion of you. Stop doing what you are forced or told to and start finding what you love. Stop focusing on becoming something what others want you to be. Do something, you want to do.
Kindness and empathy involves understanding and responding empathetically to the needs and desires of others as well as your own. Happiness is a combination of how satisfied you are with your life + how good you feel on a daily basis. 40% of your happiness is controlled by your thoughts, actions, and behaviors. 50% of your happiness is biologically determined and only 10% of your happiness is determined by your circumstances! As humans we get used to our circumstances over time, which is why it only counts for 10% of our happiness. Much lower than we all think! Share this with someone who needs to hear this.
Your self-esteem is tied to the yo-yo of what other people think of you. When other people approve of you and your decisions? You feel great! When other people disapprove of you? You feel like crap.
“When you give too much credence to other people’s opinions you’re basically telling your true self to fuck-off. You end up becoming a slave to what other people want. Running around trying to please everyone with every decision. Never really tuning into your own needs. Realize that 9 times out of 10, when you’re worried about what other people think — it’s a projection. checking in with your intuitive knowledge about who you are and what you really desire is essential to let go of others opinions. Because then you’ll always have a connection with your truth!”
“We can try to shelter ourselves from frustration and adversity, but they come with the territory of being human. Practicing patience in everyday situations will not only make life more pleasant in the present, but might also help pave the way for a more satisfying and successful future.”
“You have to actively be aware of who you are and work to be that same person throughout all situations. If you are not completely in tune with who you are, you are going to be fickle and will blow with any change in the wind. That wind is going to blow from all directions and at times it will blow hard. If you work at staying true to who you were before the wind blows, you can undergo the pressure and the hard times and not have to worry about how it is going to affect your character. Your character will come through untouched and you will be the same person.”
Self-confidence is extremely important in almost every aspect of our lives, yet so many of us struggle to find it. The good news is that self-confidence really can be learned and built on. And, whether you’re working on your own confidence or building the confidence of people around you, it’s well-worth the effort! The reason why we put a personal journal on such a pedestal is that it gives you the inner strength needed to actually get you to believe in yourself.
Stop fighting the old. It’s never worth the energy. In order to be influenced and inspired to continue to keep growing, we have to be open to change. But change is hard. The first element is to be open-minded to new ideas and thoughts and to start looking at how you deploy your ressources… make sure that all of your energy and ressources is on building the new for you.
Don’t make anyone the gatekeeper to your happiness! We often think that our happiness depends on other people liking us, agree with us, understanding us and so on. But in reality it just does not work that way. Of course outside circumstances can sometimes play a role in our short term happiness but in general happiness comes from within — it’s something you’re setting yourself up for. We can all sometimes act desperate to be liked and loved because we somehow think that our happiness depends on it. But you will realize that it does not — not at all in fact. Be true to who you are and happiness will come to you.
When we make a small mistake in life, we almost always feel bad about it and giving our self a hard time about it. But when we accomplish a small goal or thing in life, we almost never feel good about it and allow our self to be happy about it. Use this Saturday to celebrate yourself and the small goals and things you accomplish on a daily basis!
Asking yourself the right kind of questions can bring you closer to who you are now, and who you want to be.
To know yourself is the single most important skill you can acquire. Self-awareness is about understanding your own personal needs, desires, failings, habits, and everything else that makes you tick. The more you know about yourself, the better you are at adapting life changes that suit your needs.Once you figure out who you really are and what you are about then you will be less likely to feel shaken up by what other people are doing. Getting to this place takes a lot of work but asking yourself the right questions is the best way to start the process.
Everything you’ve ever wanted is on the other side of fear. But fear of the unknown has a way of stealing our courage if we are facing something difficult. Remember, real courage isn’t about fearlessness; it’s about taking steps in spite of it.
Once you understand your WHY, you’ll be able to clearly articulate what makes you feel fulfilled and to better understand what drives your behavior when you’re at your natural best. When you can do that, you’ll have a point of reference for everything you do going forward. You’ll be able to make more intentional choices for your life. You’ll be able to inspire others to buy from you, work with you and join your cause. — Simon Sinek
You have to be “good” with your self before you can truly be “good” to others. Once you learn to love yourself you will also learn your own value. You will be comfortable in your own skin and start to create your own positivity. it will be easier to let go of your negative baggage and you will have the self-esteem and confidence to ask for what you want. Your lust for life will increase and you can start to giving back to the world with all the right reasons and with the right intent.
We live in a culture that places a high premium on external measures of success. As a society we value appearances that fall within our unrealistic standards of beauty, pride ourselves on being constantly busy, and seem to be constantly striving to make more money or have nicer things. There is nothing wrong with being ambitious — but often I think that we mistakenly equate some of these external achievements with experiencing greater happiness — often you will find that what really matters can’t be measured.
“Sometimes you have to travel a long way in order to find what is near. When the rain returns to earth, it brings with it the things of the air. The magical and the extraordinary are with me and with everyone in the Universe all the time, but sometimes we forget that and need to be reminded, even if we have to cross the largest continent in the world from one side to the other.” — Aleph
When you’re paying attention to your surroundings, you’re really only superficially connecting with your environment. By looking inside yourself, you really begin to know yourself. So, dreams that you’ve had in the past, that weren’t the right fit, become more streamlined. It’s not a bad thing to have dreams, but you should have a healthy balance of the two.
Empathy is the capacity to understand or feel what another person is experiencing from within their frame of reference, i.e., the capacity to place oneself in another’s position. Understanding why others are doing what they are doing instead of getting angry or mad will lead to a happier and more fulfilling life.
“Life is too short to wake up with regrets. So love the people who treat you right. Forget about those who don’t. Believe everything happens for a reason. If you get a chance, take it. If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said life would be easy, they just promised it would most likely be worth it.”
This is YOUR life! We get that we all want to be liked and appreciated for our sparkling personality and our high intelligence. But whenever we start to fall into the trap of relying on what others are thinking of us and we value somebody else’s opinion above our own we will always get in to trouble. When we give over our power to others and allow that their impressions to become how we perceived, we lose out on who we really are. The only reality we can see is how we believe others see us. Start the process of eliminating outside voices and just be yourself — whoever that might be!
In this life you will find what you look for. As humans we have a built-in tendency to look at what is not working, what is wrong, what we messed up and what we need to fix. It’s not all bad to see the negative but make a habit of looking for the good. Every time you catch yourself with a narrow negative view on something take a step back and look for something that is working, something that is positive. Let us make looking for the light and for the good our new default.
Honor your feelings — Difficult emotions are part of the human experience. Be secure in your vulnerability. Real strength is not pretending not to feel; it’s the courage to know our feelings are OK.
Your mind is a powerful thing. When you fill it with positive thoughts, your life will start to change.
Let life be the reason you are living. Gandhi choose the words “die tomorrow” and “live forever” to allow you to pretend there is no tomorrow and that you should do what you always wanted in life and living forever is the opportunity to learn throughout the years you live. You will never run out of things to learn if you were to live forever.
Your brain health impacts everything you do — every thought, word, action, behavior, and feeling — literally everything. Make sure to treat it well.
Life truly is unpredictable — We can’t control what happens to us but we can control the way we deal with it, the way we deal with any event that take place in our path. It all comes down to how we face life — do we face it passively or actively? Do we face it positively or negatively? How we approach life really is binary.

Change is inevitable — a constant, ongoing process in our lives. We should try to accept change as it is, not fight to resist it.
Nowadays we are being taught to be someone, when we actually should be taught to be something. Something we would love to do. Something that we will be happy doing day after day after day.
Everything you’ve ever wanted is on the other side of fear. But fear of the unknown has a way of stealing our courage if we are facing something difficult. Remember, real courage isn’t about fearlessness; it’s about taking steps in spite of it.
“The mind is like an ocean. For most people, the mind is constantly moving, just like water, without ever coming to a rest. It is stirred up by our restless and rushing thoughts, just like waves on the shore. Our desires and fears do not only disturb us, but they also prohibit us from finding peace of mind. Just like the wind, our thoughts and anxieties can lead to a stormy ocean, without allowing us to rest. The mind, however, in itself is neutral, just like water. If you are able to reduce the influence of your thoughts on your mind, you will create a calm sea.”
The key to follow your intuition is to listen more to yourself. The more attention you give to yourself the more powerful and accurate your intuition will become.
Let’s face it - entitlement is keeping away your happiness. It’s a personality trait marked by exaggerated feelings of deservingness. It’s a pervasive feeling and stops you from feeling happy, satisfied and grateful. You have to let go of expectations and let things unfold naturally.
You never know what life is going to give you and a lot of times you won’t be able to control what life gives you. But you live nevertheless. So every day — every new experience — is something you really don’t know about until you actually live it. Enjoy the unknown. You can’t control it but you can control how you react to it.
It’s important to realise that some people in your life will try and hold you back, and if you start to listen to them, you will one day look back with regret. You will be judged no matter what you do. People can and will only see things from their level of perception — so just do you.
This is true for the most of us — how we see ourselves does not come from who we really are, but rather from how we believe others see us. If we believe that the opinion of others are more important than our own, we can end up living our lives in accordance to other peoples´ expectations. It will come to a point where others’ opinion of you will run your life. Please tag someone who needs to see and hear this.
“when you are going through hell, keep going.”
Today might not be the best and tomorrow might not either be the best but the day after tomorrow will be good again. When we go through a tough situation it is so important to keep perspective and focus on the positive. Just because something isn’t happening for you right now doesn’t mean it will never happen — sometimes the best things in life take time. The magical tools that change your attitude and point of view are gratitude, patience and persistence. Tag someone who needs to hear this.
Let’s all be honest about something: We all dwell on that past from time to time. And that is honestly okay — we are all humans with emotions. Sometimes we feel a need to cling onto what once was. But when our dwelling about the past affects our future, we begin an unhealthy battle with anchors that can hold us down. Look back at your past whether good or bad with a smile — because they all helped shape who you are today.
A little reminder if you feel like you’re going in an undesired direction, you’re going to end up where you don’t want to be. While changing where you are isn’t going to be instant, you can change the direction you are moving, and you can do so instantly. Keeping a journal is a perfect way for you to guide you in the direction you want to be headed.
No one is perfect. We all have shortcomings and we all have things we are bad at. Acknowledge, accept and own your weaknesses and shortcomings. When you accept and own your weaknesses you rise above them. This is what selfawareness is all about — understanding your own personal needs, desires, failings, habits, and everything else that makes you tick. The more you know about yourself, the better you are at adapting life changes that suit your needs. Journaling enhances your thinking because it eliminates the mental noise. It offers new perspectives and brings things together.
At first blush, daydreaming might sound counterproductive and even unhealthy. Like so many pleasurable things — daydreaming by itself isn’t unhealthy. It matters how and when we do it. Though having our heads in the clouds all day long probably isn’t a good idea, when done in appropriate ways and at appropriate times, daydreaming and fantasies can actually help us be more happy in life.
Please stop complaining and realize that you are in complete charge of your life and happiness. Once you realize that everything is on you then you will find the courage to make the tough decisions. We all know it’s so much easier to blame others — but nothing good will come from that.

“When you realize how perfect everything is, you will tilt your head back and laugh at the sky.” Staring at the sky can help restore your hope and make you more connected to life. Staring at the sky is the best way to take a deep breath and expand your soul and embrace that you exist — You can see things the way they are, real and pure. It enables you with the possibility to put things in the right perspective and find some fun in doing this. Tag someone who needs to hear this :)
“Worrying is like a rocking chair, it gives you something to do, but it gets you nowhere.” Life truly is unpredictable — We can’t control what happens to us but we can control the way we deal with it, the way we deal with any event that take place in our path. It all comes down to how we face life — do we face it passively or actively? Do we face it positively or negatively? How we approach life really is binary.
Before we are even born, our parents biases and beliefs are downloaded to us. We become indoctrinated by the influential people in our life such as our family, friends, teachers and coaches. We tend to fall into the trap of obeying others rather than questioning and thinking for ourselves.
A smile conveys feelings of happiness, hope and positivity to anyone who sees it. When you smile, you are sending a message of joy to both yourself and all the people around you. Tag someone who needs to smile more :)
Much of our time and energy is spent pursuing things we currently don’t have. Gratitude and thankfulness reverses our priorities to help us appreciate the people and things we do.
Echos come back. If you do good by others probably good things will start to happen for you as well. It’s simply impossible to reap what you did not sow. Make karma a practical element of your life now :)
It’s true that in life, we attract what we constantly think about. You must decide to take back control of your mind and with it, your life!
Whom do you punish when you are angry or holding regret? You punish yourself.
Imagination literally opens us up. It removes the blinders of fear and despair and allows us to see the big picture. We become creative, unleashing our dreams for the future.

It is so important to realize that happiness does not come from the outside — it comes from within. True happiness, joy and contentment comes from personal states of being, and our own actions.
one thing’s for sure, it is never easy saying goodbye to anything or
anyone. But one thing that we can all rely on is this: saying goodbye is
never the end of anything, it is simply another beginning. New opportunities are opened to us. We leave our “comfort zone” to
become better. To learn new things and test ourselves to where we
can truly go. This is the “hello” life will bring us.
“The thing that is really hard, and really amazing, is giving up on being perfect and beginning the work of becoming yourself.” Everything is perfect for us in this moment if we accept that imperfection is a learning experience.Tag someone who needs to hear this.
It’s important to realize the positivity that kindness can produce in our lives. Kindness is ultimately a key contributor to happiness. Acting with kindness is a win-win. Not only can it provide someone with a sense of pride by acting kindly towards others, but it also has the potential to boost the confidence and provoke bliss in those around us. It originates from the simple act of doing no harm to others.
The simple fact of the matter is that change continues to evolve and expand on every level each second throughout our day. Change is like the wind blowing a sail boat through the open ocean. To resist change is to fight against the inevitable and all powerful forces of life. On the other hand, to harness the power of change will take one on a path of unexpected transformation that can bring many blessings and the potential for abundant opportunities.

Such a powerful quote — If you cut out the noise everything becomes much more simple. You will by definition regret 100% of all the chances you didn’t take — so throw off the bowlines, sail away from safe harbor, catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore, dream, discover. Enjoy this amazing Friday!
We have all been there. We keep doing the same things and still expect some sort of different outcome — when it happens we have to slow down, take a deep breath, and think. If there is a will there’s a way. It just has to be a different way.
A smile conveys feelings of happiness, hope and positivity to anyone who sees it. When you smile, you are sending a message of joy to both yourself and all the people around you.
Everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about. Be kind. Always.
Understanding why others are doing what they are doing instead of getting angry or mad will lead to a happier and more fulfilling life.
Asking for help can be really scary and hard. We worry it will make us look weak or incompetent. The truth is you won’t get far without asking for help and every time you ask you will learn something new. And remember that anyone who thinks you’re weak for asking for help is someone who’s opinion you shouldn’t care about at all. Please tag your friend who needs to hear this!
The past, though existing a series of dates and events, is just as fluid as the future. How we see our past can change drastically, but that is what makes the future so exciting. It not only provides possibility but can also change the way we see our past.
It’s so important to realize that we are all in much more control of our own destiny than we think. It’s easy to fall into a reactionary mode, allowing life to just happen to you, while giving away your power to create it. You must decide to take back control of your mind and with it, your life

The year 2018 marks a major milestone in the incredible story of Nelson Mandela — his centenary.
Keep exploring yourself until you know the real motive. The answer lies within you. You never know which moment may introduce you to your own self.
Let’s remember this: it only makes sense to compare yourself to who you were yesterday. Have a great week!
If you’re not where you want to be in your life — never let yourself believe change is impossible. Don’t allow your future to be limited by your situation; stop being afraid of what might go wrong and start getting excited about what could go right.
Each step on your journey reveals a new moment, a new horizon. By reading this you have taken the first step. We now challenge you to take a another step. It’s so important to be content with small steps. That’s basically all life is.
You will become the person you decide to be. That is why doing the right thing is always the right think — it will be tough at times. But it’s a lot easier than living in a world of misery and pain you’ve created with poor choices and short-sighted decisions. It’s so much easier to just to the right thing.
Be yourself — everybody else is already taken. What makes you special and unique is the fact that there’s not another person with your mix of traits. Let’s use that as an advantage, the ones you like and the ones you don’t.
Cultivate your own way of thinking and stop living your life by the principles of other people’s opinion of you. Stop doing what you are forced or told to and start finding what you love. Stop focusing on becoming something what others want you to be. Do something, you want to do.
No matter what problems you have , never forget to smile and be happy. We all have our moments of weakness, we all end up in a gutter from time to time. In these moments it’s so important to have a perspective that allows you to look at the positive elements of what you are going through.
Let’s face it — entitlement and expectations are keeping away your happiness. It’s a personality trait marked by exaggerated feelings of deservingness. It’s a pervasive feeling and stops you from feeling happy, satisfied and grateful. You have to let go of expectations and let things unfold naturally.
Reminding yourself about some of your own core beliefs and values can be a great place to start. It’s a way to release tension and truly remember why you do what you do. It gives you a chance to reflect on the past and the present while preparing for the future. And as a result, it allows you to erase your frustrations, reduce your stress and optimize your motivation and inspiration to chase your dreams.
“Everything you’ve ever wanted is on the other side of fear” — What you are afraid to look at has power of you.
This is YOUR life! We get that we all want to be liked and appreciated for our sparkling personality and our high intelligence. But whenever we start to fall into the trap of relying on what others are thinking of us and we value somebody else’s opinion above our own we will always get in to trouble. If you want happiness for an hour, take a nap.
In this life you will find what you look for. As humans we have a built-in tendency to look at what is not working, what is wrong, what we messed up and what we need to fix. It’s not all bad to see the negative but make a habit of looking for the good. Much of our time and energy is spent pursuing things we currently don’t have. Gratitude and thankfulness reverses our priorities to help us appreciate the people and things we do.
When it comes to relationships, we are greatly influenced — whether we like it or not — by those closest to us. It affects our way of thinking, our self-esteem, and our decisions. You need to audit who you spend time with. If anyone in your inner circle brings you down you need to take a step away from them — it needs to be the first step in your journey towards a more positive life.
Stop fighting the old. It’s never worth the energy. In order to be influenced and inspired to continue to keep growing, we have to be open to change. But change is hard. The first element is to be open-minded to new ideas and thoughts and to start looking at how you deploy your ressources… make sure that all of your energy and ressources are used to build the new for you
Please realize that you are in control — You have the ability and right to decide your thoughts and reactions to anything and everything that happens in your life. From the intense and major to the mundane and seemingly innocuous, you decide how you react to everything and, more importantly, everybody.
This is not something that is ease or fun. Quite the opposite in fact, but adding positive people and cutting negative people from your life might be the single most effective element to create a much happier life for yourself.
In this life we will find what we look for. During rough periodes of times it can be hard to see the light — it is so important to stay #positive and just look for the best in any given situation. Remember that we are all so much stronger than we know. Let’s make looking for the light and for the good our new default.
Your perceptions are in fact your reality and your perceptions do in fact influence everything.
A journal is an unexpectedly great way to help you work through issues, analyze where you’re at in your life, and help you guide you to your next place.
Please stop complaining and realize that you are in complete charge of your life and happiness. Once you realize that everything is on you then you will find the courage to make the tough decisions. We all know it’s so much easier to blame others by default — but nothing good will come from that. Get out of the victim mentality and understand that strength is found in resistance. You are so much stronger than you think.
Fear of the unknown has a way of stealing our courage if we are facing something difficult. Remember, real courage isn’t about fearlessness; it’s about taking steps in spite of it.

Nowadays we are being teach to be someone, when we actually should be taught to be something. Something we would love to do. Something that we will be happy doing day after day after day.
Think back on your life. It’s so important to think about optimizing for happiness — not things :) What were the three times you were the happiest and felt life was full?
“when you are going through hell, keep going.”
Today might not be the best and tomorrow might not either be the best but the day after tomorrow will be good again. When we go through a tough situation it is so important to keep perspective and focus on the positive.
It’s true that in life, we attract what we constantly think about. You must decide to take back control of your mind and with it, your life!
This is so true. It’s so important to realize that nothing will happen until you make the commitment with yourself to take this first step — whatever you are trying to accomplish.
You will by definition regret 100% of all the chances you didn’t take — so throw off the bowlines.
We live in a culture that places a high premium on external measures of success. As a society we value appearances that fall within our unrealistic standards of beauty, pride ourselves on being constantly busy, and seem to be constantly striving to have nicer things. There is nothing wrong with being ambitious — but often we mistakenly equate some of these external achievements with experiencing greater happiness — often you will find that what really matters can’t be measured.
Life truly is unpredictable — We can’t control what happens to us but we can control the way we deal with it, the way we deal with any event that take place in our path.
Empathy is the capacity to understand or feel what another person is experiencing from within their frame of reference, i.e., the capacity to place oneself in another’s position. Understanding why others are doing what they are doing instead of getting angry or mad will lead to a happier and more fulfilling life.
Keeping a journal will allow you to reflect on the past and the present while preparing for the future. And as a result, it allows you to erase your frustrations, reduce your stress and optimize your motivation and inspiration to chase your dreams.
There really isn’t anything you cannot do — the choices and opportunities are endless. Everything you see in the world was someone’s thought, dream or vision. It all starts in our heads. All you have to do is use that magnificent brain of yours and get your feet in your shoes. Embrace the challenges and start loving the process of your journey.
Say what you think and don’t be apologetic about it. Everything that’s presented as a fact in life is, in reality, an opinion. So when people try to challenge your opinions, know that they are playing a useless game. You can say and think whatever you want. Just always make sure that it comes from a good place.
“It can be hard to forgive and let go but it’s important to remember that harboring the resentment and holding a grudge can hurt you even more. The word “forgive” really means to give something up for yourself not for them.”
Do you have a tendency to take things for granted that most deserve your gratitude? We should consider everything we are given as privileges - not as rights. Let us know if you agree!
People can and will only see things from their level of perception — so just do you.
Know that nothing in this life is perfect — but know that this life can be whatever you want it to be. Don’t look back on mistakes. Don’t look back on the loss. Step forward. Push forward. Climb those mountains without hesitation this time. Don’t give up and never lose faith in yourself. Fall and fail and try again. Thanks so much for being part of this community.
Expectations are keeping away your happiness. You to let go of them and let things unfold naturally.
In life you are faced with two choices. You either make yourself accountable or you will be accountable for your circumstances. All of your fears will be proven right when you blame others for your reactions.
Your mind is a powerful thing. When you fill it with positive thoughts, your life will start to change. Avoid negative people and surround yourself with people who are always positive, the world will seem much brighter by then.
Only when moving can one comfortably maintain one’s balance.
We all dwell on that past from time to time.
When you are angry, your emotions get agitated, your blood pressure goes up, you become impatient and irritable, and you lose control over your actions and reactions. Anger hides common sense and reason, and makes you say and do things, which will only aggravate the situation. Whom do you punish when you are angry or holding regret? You punish yourself.
It’s true that in life, we attract what we constantly think about. You must decide to take back control of your mind and with it, your life!
Humor is extremely important for your health and your everyday happiness. To be able to smile at life’s quirkiness is crucial to joy in your heart and soul. There’s a lot of talk about happiness, but talk doesn’t really make us happy. Happiness is an experience, not an intellectual understanding of something :)
Why worry about the things you can’t control when you can keep yourself more than busy controlling the things that you can control?
Why is it that we all think we need a reason to be happy? We have to rethink that again. If we need a reason to be happy, our happiness can be taken away from us. Please understand that it really is within our power to be happy. All we have to do is choose.
If we feel unhappy in the moment we should ask ourselves why, what’s going on, and assess our emotions over time. Self-reflection is the key. Once we get to the root causes of how we feel, it becomes much easier to change our mood.
No one is perfect. We all have shortcomings and we all have things we are bad at. We should just acknowledge, accept and own our weaknesses and shortcomings — when we do that we rise above them.
“Most people want to change the world to improve their lives, but the world they need to change first is the one inside themselves.”If you improve your life, the life of others is improved. If you become better, the world will become better.
The greatest enemy to your happiness in your life are negative thoughts. Period. They hold you down, tire you out, and take away all your joy in life. The best way to deal with negative thoughts is to realize that you are in control and that you take full accountability for your given situation.
Never stop learning because life never stops teaching. And remember we do not learn from experience — we learn from reflecting on experience.
If you’re not where you want to be in your life — never let yourself believe change is impossible. Don’t allow your future to be limited by your situation; stop being afraid of what might go wrong and start getting excited about what could go right.
you will by definition regret 100% of all the chances you didn’t take. Stop taking life so seriously — You’re not gonna live forever so make sure to make the most of it and have fun while doing that.
We all dwell on that past from time to time. And that is honestly okay — we are all humans with emotions. Sometimes we feel a need to cling onto what once was. Kindness originates from the simple act of doing no harm to others. The benefits of kindness includes increased happiness, improves your personal relationship and research even shows that it influences the giver more than the receiver.
Empathy involves understanding and responding empathetically to the needs and desires of others as well as your own. If you truly understand how others feel and in fact feel the same emotions, it would be very difficult if not impossible to respond to others with hostility or cruelty.
Much of our time and energy is spent pursuing things we currently don’t have. Gratitude and thankfulness reverses our priorities to help us appreciate the people and things we do.
This is YOUR life! We get that we all want to be liked and appreciated for our sparkling personality and our high intelligence. But whenever we start to fall into the trap of relying on what others are thinking of us and we value somebody else’s opinion above our own we will always get in to trouble. When we give over our power to others and allow that their impressions to become how we perceive, we lose out on who we really are. The only reality we can see is how we believe others see us. Start the process of eliminating outside voices and just be yourself — whoever that might be!
The mind is like an ocean. If you are able to reduce the influence of your thoughts on your mind, you will create a calm sea.
Keeping a journal moves you towards wholeness and growth, to who you really are. Once you get there you will start to notice how big of a miracle life actually is.
Let’s use this Sunday to turn the page and letting go of the stuff, things and persons we just need to let go of. Happy Sunday.
To be selfish means that you are true to yourself first. Once you are completely true to yourself then you can be true to others. When you truly understand yourself you are able to understand what you can give to others and the people you are giving to can take your selflessness for all the right reasons.
“Most people want to change the world to improve their lives, but the world they need to change first is the one inside themselves.” The more you want to impact the rest of the world, the more you need to think about yourself.
Become free of the burden of conscious mental activity yet alert and aware — the enlightened life.
It’s so important to realize that we are all in complete control of our own destiny and control of your life starts with controlling your mind by regulating the thoughts that you choose to dwell upon. The best way to deal with any negative event in your life is to realize that you are in control and that you take full accountability for your given situation.
Throughout our lives, so many of us naturally attach ourselves to relationships, material objects and circumstances in life. But by wanting to keep these things fixed, we resist the natural way of change. So, instead of continuing this trend, remove the friction by releasing attachments and allow yourself to flow with the universe.
This is not something that is ease or fun. Quite the opposite in fact, but adding positive people and cutting negative people from your life might be the single most effective element to create a much happier life for yourself.
Life truly is unpredictable — We can’t control what happens to us but we can control the way we deal with it, the way we deal with any event that take place in our path. It all comes down to how we face life — do we face it passively or actively? Do we face it positively or negatively?
When it comes to relationships, we are greatly influenced — whether we like it or not — by those closest to us. It affects our way of thinking, our self-esteem, and our decisions. You need to audit who you spend time with. If anyone in your inner circle brings you down you need to take a step away from them — it needs to be the first step in your journey towards a more positive life.
Use this Sunday to realize that your mind is a powerful thing. When you fill it with positive thoughts, your life will start to change. The more our mind fills with problems, the less space we have for the positive elements of life. Focusing on the good in your life will make you feel calmer and will enable you to find solutions to your problems. Even after keeping a journal for just a few days, you should start to notice positive changes in your mind and body.
This is very simple, you will by definition regret 100% of all the chances you didn’t take. Be comfortable with making mistakes :)
We have no idea what is going on in others lives. Before we start judging, get upset or angry about an action from someone in our life we have to take a step back and deploy empathy to understand where they are at right now in their life. The reason why someone close to you might not be happy for you is because of the circumstance that he or she is facing in life. We have to understand that and take a step back. Forgive them and remember you don’t need to punish them for it either — just don’t take on the negative energy.
Life often presents us with unexpected obstacles and challenges that require us to rethink our assumptions. Change is constant, so we usually don’t notice the little or the expected changes; it’s when you are caught off-guard that you can get discombobulated. The trick is to know that it is just one of the millions of changes that are going to happen in your life and, good or not so good, do what you can to just roll with it.
Nothing in life lasts forever. The only relationship that is stable and long-lasting is the one you have with yourself. So don’t attach your happiness to external things. Attach your own happiness to your own self and your own ability to be and stay flexible no matter what life throws at you. That way, no matter what, you will be fine because you’re equipped with the attitude to be happy with the highs and the lows, and to joyfully endure hardships as you see them as part of your growth.
Remember that it’s not what you look at that matters, it’s what you see.
We can’t control what happens to us but we can control the way we deal with it, the way we deal with any event that take place in our path. It all comes down to how we face life — do we face it passively or actively? Do we face it positively or negatively?
It all depends on how we look at things, and not on how they are in themselves.
We become what we repeatedly do. We are the sum of our habits. New habits are things you do, old habits are who you are. So, who are you? What are the habits that define you?
We all know that life is full of extreme circumstances and that we from time to time we’ll be in a bad mood, suffer or be stressed. We can’t control what happens to us even though we all wish we could, that simply just isn’t the case — but we can promise you that if we are in balance as a human and we sort of understand and “master” our own mind, we will all be equipped and prepared to handle whatever challenges, problems and troubles life throws at us. Tag someone who needs to hear this.
“Happiness can be achieved through training the mind.” Acceptance is allowing your thoughts and feelings to be as they are.
It doesn’t matter if they are painful or pleasant — stop fighting reality. Let your thoughts and emotions come and go naturally. Without neither forcing nor silencing them. Acceptance doesn’t mean giving up. On the contrary, it’s acknowledging your feelings and life events. When you accept all your experiences — both pleasant and painful — you are expanding your mind.
The best way to multiply your happiness is to share it with others.
Making your own path in life isn’t easy, especially if that path involves doing something different than the norm. Many falsely believe that they have to do things a certain way. But that simply is not the case. You can make your life whatever you want it to be. It can be different than what everyone else wants.
Those with a fixed mindset are very afraid of failure because they see it as a sign of weakness or lack of ability in a given field. People with a growth mindset don’t care much about failure because they know that they can learn from it and therefore improve their performance. Daily journaling about your goals and how you are investing your time and energy in your priorities, forces you to align with and course correct as needed in order to do the small daily, weekly, monthly actions that your goals require present every single day. Ready to take on a growth mindset? :)
Be very careful who you take advice from. The hard truth is that misery loves company and therefore it’s so important to realise that some people in your life will try and hold you back — not because that they don’t love or like you. It’s simply because of the situation they are currently in. We all struggle to see things from different perspectives. If there is something you want you have to get it. You owe it to yourself — no one else.
We are sick and tired of all the judgement that is going on. We have to remember we have no context for other people’s lives. We see others from the outside and ourselves from the inside. Please remember this the next time you either are being judged or you find yourself judging another — always try to understand instead of judging.
Lead yourself. Ask questions. Get the facts before you decide to believe and act. Think for yourself!
So many of us believe the lie that we can’t change and that we are worthless. Self-depreciation is a form of self-sabotage. Negative thoughts will fuel negative outcomes thinking that you are gonna mess up, is the quickest way to do just that. Fortunately the opposite is also true — positive thoughts will lead to positive outcomes. When we believe in ourselves, we all have a tendency to rise to the occasion — there is so much power in confidence and knowing that we are enough. Remember that we are all so much stronger than we know.
Use this monday to take the opportunity to learn from your mistakes: find the cause of your problem and eliminate it. Don’t try to be perfect; just be an excellent example of being human.
Marie Curie was a woman who knew about fear — she was a pioneer in the field of radioactivity, the first and only person honoured with Nobel Prizes in two different sciences, and the first female professor at the University of Paris. Seeking understanding instead of fear is applicable to every aspect of our lives. Fear can come from misconceptions and a lack of understanding. You can overcome your fear by rationalizing it. Even things that are a hazard to you do not need to be feared if you understand it. Tag someone who needs to read this.
Much of our time and energy is spent pursuing things we currently don’t have. Gratitude and thankfulness reverses our priorities to help us appreciate the people and things we do.
It’s not what you look at in life that matters — it’s what you see. You get to choose the lens through which you see the world. You can choose to see the world through the lens of positivity or negativity. Your perspective is a choice. Happiness is a choice.
One thing’s for sure, it is never easy saying goodbye to anything or
anyone. But one thing that we can all rely on is this: saying goodbye is
never the end of anything, it is simply another beginning. New opportunities are opened to us all the time — we simply have to stop dwelling about the past and look forward.
it’s never too late to be who you might have been. If you are feeling stuck in life now it’s time to do something about it.
Our brains love questions: it’s how we learn, forge new associations, and wire new neural connections. Just as important as asking the right questions is the truth and depth in our answers. Use this selfcaresunday to ask yourself a deep question.

Problems are messengers, not trolls: Don’t ignore or fight your problems. Listen to their valuable guidance. Everything happening in your life right now is meant to help you grow.
The holiday season is a perfect time to reflect on our blessings and seek out ways to make life better for those around us.

#einstein#einsteinquotes #alberteinstein#alberteinsteinquote #realvalue#happinesscomesfromwithin#findhappiness #whatcounts#focusonwhatmatters #selfimprovement#kindnessmatters #empathymatters#selfcarematters #mindsetmatters

The most powerful habit you can develop in 2019 is a positive mindset. It makes your entire life easier and not so burdensome. It will open up new paths towards where you want to go and it helps you to more easily overcome setbacks. So how do you do develop a positive mindset? 1. Focus on the good in all situations 2. cut negative people out of your life 3. Develop gratitude to the things you have in your life 4.be positive to others — this was 4 tangible things you can start to do in your daily life. Let 2019 be the year of positivity.
Make a conscious decision that you won’t allow negative thoughts to limit your potential. Conduct behavioral experiments that prove your self-doubt wrong and eventually, you’ll change the way you think. You’ll begin to see that you have more mental strength than you ever imagined. You’ll be less likely to think about all the things you can’t do, and more likely to recognize all the choices you have when you’re your strongest and best self.
If we expect to “have it all” in life, we will live in a perpetual state of frustration and disappointment. You can’t have all the benefits of a single life and be married. You can’t have all the advantages of having children and have lots of time for yourself and your career. Life is nothing but a series of trade-offs and a series of choices. When you become content with that you’ll find peace of mind.
“Things don’t necessarily happen for the best, but some people are able to make the best of things that happen.” At every moment in life we have a choice. We can choose to take things for granted or appreciate the good; we can choose to view failure as a catastrophe or as a learning opportunity; we can choose to succumb or make the best of what happens. It may at times feel easier to be a victim, but it’s certainly not a state of mind that leads to a happy and meaningful life.

Acceptance is allowing your thoughts and feelings to be as they are. It doesn’t matter if they are painful or pleasant — stop fighting reality. Let your thoughts and emotions come and go naturally. Without neither forcing nor silencing them. Acceptance doesn’t mean giving up. On the contrary, it’s acknowledging your feelings and life events.
We all know this, we live in the age of envy. Social media is making everyone accessible for comparison. Even though we all know this we still tend to get caught up in swiping and scrolling through pictures, tweets and videos that makes us feel envy of someone else. We just have to remember that everyone we envy is also struggling, they might be good at hiding it though.
“Don’t take life too seriously. You will never get out of it alive.” Laughter is one of the first things you do as a newborn, and, if all goes well, it will be one of the last things you do before you die. We can’t control what happens to us but we can control the way we deal with it, the way we deal with any event that take place in our path. No matter how much it hurts now, someday you will look back and realize your struggles changed your life for the better.
Use a no to give you the opportunity to discover what you are capable of — It’s much more than you think.
Stop fighting the old. It’s never worth the energy. In order to be influenced and inspired to continue to keep growing, we have to be open to change. But change is hard. The first element is to be open-minded to new ideas and thoughts and to start looking at how you deploy your ressources… make sure that all of your energy and ressources are used to build the new for you. #socrates#socratesquotes #changeisgood#wehavetochange#changeyourmindset #changeyourlife#findhappiness #openmindedness#entrepreneurmindset#entrepreneurship #secretofchange#reflect #changeiscoming
The relationship with yourself is the most important relationships in your life — make sure you work on it.
“If there is only one lesson you learn this entire year, it’s this: You are absolutely the most important person in your entire universe. Your entire life is lived through your eyes. Your interactions with the world and those around you, your thoughts and how you interpret events, relationships, actions, and words. You might just be another person when it comes to the grand scheme of things, but when it comes to your understanding of reality, you are the only thing that matters. The less you love yourself, listen to yourself, and understand yourself, the more confused, angry, and frustrating your reality will be. But self-love isn’t easy. As they say: you are your own biggest critic. So begin to love yourself first. It might not be the easiest thing in the world to do, but it’s definitely the most important.”

The company you keep says a lot about you, because who you spend time with have a major influence on how you feel, think, and behave. If you hang out with people who are pessimistic and lazy, you’re likely to feel as negative and down as they do. If you surround yourself with enthusiastic and positive people, those are the feelings and attitudes you’ll adopt instead.
Marie Curie was a woman who knew about fear — she was a pioneer in the field of radioactivity, the first and only person honoured with Nobel Prizes in two different sciences, and the first female professor at the University of Paris. The mind is like an ocean. Life is a circle of happiness, sadness, hard times, and good times. If you are going through a hard time, know that good times are on the way. Difficult roads have a tendency to lead to beautiful destinations. Just keep moving forward.
#einstein#einsteinquotes#alberteinstein#alberteinsteinquote#realvalue#happinesscomesfromwithin#findhappiness#whatcounts#focusonwhatmatters#selfimprovement#kindnessmatters#empathymatters#selfcarematters#mindsetmatters

The elements within us are strong enough to make our lives more clear and positive towards our goals. One should not let the past happenings bother much, or worry about what the future holds for oneself. Because neither is as important as the strength of character a person have that will help one overcome both the past demons and future worries.

Having a relationship with yourself is, like any relationship, difficult and full of many ups and downs but it’s by far the most important relationship you’ll ever have — after all we came into the world alone and we will go out of this world alone too. It’s so important to realize that there is no healthy relationship without loving yourself first — if we don’t have a good relationship with ourselves, we often find ourselves in abusive or otherwise unhealthy relationships. Use this Thursday to start a daily habit of building, growing and cultivating a loving relationship to yourself.
Start to think about what it is that you ascribe meaning to and why that is.

Your value doesn’t decrease based on someone’s inability to see your worth.
Whatever you are facing right now. Keep going. Your hardest times often lead to the greatest moments of your life.
Our thoughts are little bubbles, massive bubbles, ugly bubbles and pretty bubbles. Some bubbles become more annoying and will stick around and just refuse to pop. Knowing how to handle them is the important part. When we understand this fundamental truth, our life becomes better.
If we manage our thoughts and feel our feelings, we are able to ride the waves with ease. Rather than get stuck and attached to our thoughts and feelings, we can choose to arrive fully in our bodies and minds, knowing that outside stimulus influences our thoughts and our emotions. How do you separate yourself from your thoughts and emotions?
