You are absolutely wrong. HRC campaign had nothing to do with it. My sister wrote the essay, posted it on Facebook for her friends, many of which asked her to make it public so they could share it. She didn’t want to make her profile public. One of them suggested she put it on Medium so they could share it. So she did. True story.
