The NLI offers support to any project or institution devoted to the public education and enlightenment about Levantine arts, culture, achievements, and history. As part of this effort, the NLI partners with the Humanities Research Center (HRC) at Rice University on its multi-leveled, data-driven Levant Carta.

The Levante Carta seeks to create a platform that will connect scholarly networks in order to produce temporally correct illustrated maps of cities in the Levant. To achieve that, the HRC conduct activities that will link multiple disciplines, schools, and universities in the US and other countries. This initiative will allow current projects to attain public distribution and allow new projects to develop, thus achieving the Levant Carta’s primary goal: to promote innovative research into the history of Levantine cities.
