Howard is Not the Dwight Move For the Celtics

The NBA trade deadline is around the corner and the rumors are running rampant about who the Celtics are looking to add to their over achieving roster. We are hearing names from Horford to Teague to Cousins to Gallinari to Howard. Eating onions, spotting dimes, I don’t know what to believe!

This year the Celtics were expected to be in the hunt in an open Eastern Conference but not even the greenest of green-teamers would have been confident in saying this team would be fighting for a top 3 seed. However that is where we are with the all-star break next weekend and I am loving every minute of it. But nothing can wipe away my big cheese smile quicker than a rumor that the Celtics are asking about the availability of Dwight Howard.

Let me preface this take by saying that I am aware that Dwight is a better option than any big guy currently on the roster. And I am aware that on paper, it makes the team better but a Dwight Howard rental is not the right step for this growing team. Many are forgetting the slimy trail that this turd has left at every stop in his NBA career. I remember it like yesterday when Dwight crashed a Stan Van Gundy interview while Stan was telling the media Dwight wanted him out of town. And what did Howard do? He put his fucking arm around him and acted like they were best friends. Unreal. And then he forces his way to LA where Kobe almost sticks his Black Mamba fangs into his neck after a season. Did I forget to mention that he was rumored to be dating a high school girl while in Houston? (not even a good looking one either). Couple this garbage with a piss poor attitude and a desire to be “The Guy” (great idea in 09 maybe) and you have a recipe for disaster.

If we want to trade for a questionable character or locker room cancer then it is Cousins or bust. Make it happen Danny.
