Hustle as a College Student: Community is key

College is a wonderful, as a freshman it has been really overwhelming being so exposed to so many different ways of thinking, so many different way to perceive be world, and discovering so many different ways of life people want to pursue. So far, I feel as though I’ve just been “testing the waters” with different communities and organizations to find what path I want to pursue. But now I think I’ve come up with some sort of an idea of what I want to do. I’m no longer searching for purpose, but rather searching for a community that wants to emulate what I want to do.

I can tell you that I for sure that without a doubt the key is networking. I make it a motive to talk to EVERYONE. Everyone is worth your time, you need to make a constant push to hear everyones thoughts. Why? Because you never know who someone is. I met a kid a few weeks ago named Marshall, he has 40k Instagram followers and he is like the king of photography on my campus. Meeting him had been impactful. Listening to his perspective and to really work with him to bounce ideas off of him to develop my own personal brand has. Even powerful. This type of push is essential to success in my opinion. I have seen tremendous growth since talking to him and my insta is hopping due to the push he has given to me. I recommend everyone try and seek out people like this. If you can find just one person who resonates with you and your ideas and can make a push with you, you’ll go farther. And if you can find a community of people who resonate with you, you’ll go far.
