Pacific island nations, like Kiribati, should consider this as a way to cope with rising sea levels. Forget Maritime Law. If the oceans swallow your land, but you’re still there, floating atop plastic bottles, aren’t you still a country? Think about how existing countries can change because of this, and not just the pipedream of mini, floating city-states.
