Does Joe really mean”factoids”? It’s a pejorative term. A factoid is not exactly untrue, but fishy in some way: cherry-picked, poorly supported, out of context, over-simplified, approximate, or exaggerated.

The “bigger than the industrial or information revolutions” is a fishy claim. A complete makeover of the energy system is a big deal, sure, and will have big repercussions. But from 30,000 feet, it is striking how little change in the way of life of rich-country inhabitants it requires. Americans can still live in suburban McMansions, heated and cooled by solar energy, and commute long distances to work through traffic jams in large electric cars. If they so choose.
