“A good friend is like a four-leaf clover; hard to find and lucky to have.”

~ Irish Proverb

True friendship is hard to come by. So when you find it, cherish it.

Shout-out to the real ones. Shout-out to our true friends. Shout-out to the friends who show up for us no matter what. Shout-out to the ones who are too busy to be there, but make time for us anyway. Shout-out to the friends who provide soulful renewal to our minds and hearts, and to the ones who pick up right where we left off. Shout-out to the ones who instead of judging us, love us for all we are. Shout-out to the ones who put themselves in our shoes, and to the ones who take action and try to help us solve our problems.

Shout-out to the real ones. Shout-out to the ones who get us out of the house. Shout-out to the ones who talk shit to our faces rather than behind our backs. Shout-out to the ones who don’t always agree with us, but instead offer brand new perspectives on life and how to handle certain situations. Shout-out to the ones who make us laugh; the kind of laughs that remind us we do have stomach muscles. Shout-out to the team players.

Shout-out to the real ones. Shout-out to the ones who pay for lunch because they know we don’t get paid until the end of the week. Shout-out to the ones who forgive us for our wrong doings and poor choices. Shout-out to the ones who give us second and third chances, though we don’t always deserve them. Shout-out to the ones who inspire us to accept ourselves, and to the ones who put their phones away and remain present.

Shout-out to the real ones. Shout out to the ones who talk about ideas rather than about other people, and to the ones we build dreams with. Shout-out to the ones who let us borrow their car because we don’t have enough gas to make it to work. Shout-out to the ones who just listen and don’t have the need to one-up us. Shout-out to the ones who will help us change our flat tire on the Interstate 5 during rush hour.

Shout-out to the real ones. Shout-out to the ones who knew us before the success and keep us humble. Show-out to the ones who inspire us to become better thinkers and doers. Shout-out to the ones who help us polish off the ever so tasty, but bad for us kind of cereals. Shout-out to the ones who are down to watch a scary movie provided we have a blanket to cover our eyes, and the freedom to sleep with the lights on. Shout-out to the ones who like and love us in real-life, and to the ones who check-in.

Shout-out to the real ones. Shout-out to the ones who love our kids almost as much as we do. Shout out to the ones who stick up for us when others are gossiping about us and we aren’t there to hear it. Shout-out to the ones who take care of our kids because we are too depressed to get out of bed that day. Shout-out to the ones who have been there through the toughest of heartbreaks, and to the ones who don’t let other men or women come between a true friendship. Shout-out to the furry ones who get excited when we get home from a hard days work, and greet us with wet kisses and stinky breath.

Shout-out to the real ones. Shout-out to the ones we might have intimately loved before, but choose to still care for us, though we are not together anymore. Shout-out to the ones who are no longer in a relationship with us, but still help us raise our kids together; the very best way we can. Shout-out to the ones who feed us. Shout-out to the ones who let us stake a claim on their couch for a month, while we try to save to buy that house, or wait for our credit score to prove that we can pay our rent every month.

Shout-out to the ones who bring us Dutch Bros. or Starbucks coffee when we least expect it. Shout-out to the ones who know we prefer almond milk in our chai teas rather than milk. Shout-out to the ones who don’t give us lip service and actually do what they said they were going to do, and to the ones who forgive us when we fall short of our promises to them.

Shout-out to the real ones. Shout-out to the ones who want to see us succeed and give us tips along the way. Shout-out to the ones who roll to farmer’s market with us even though its cold and rainy outside. Shout-out to the ones who give us space when we need it, and to the ones who hold space for us when we need them to. Shout-out to the ones we call brothers and to the ones we call sisters.

Shout-out to the real ones who introduce us to those who could help us expand our business, and to the ones who support our dreams no matter how lofty they seem. Shout-out to the ones who recommend a good book, and to the ones who accept our FaceTime calls even though they haven’t showered yet. Shout-out to the ones who appreciate our imperfections, and to the ones who are kind and compassionate to us and others. Shout-out to the ones who know that honesty is the only policy, and to the real ones who never give up on us even though we may have given up on ourselves.

Shout-out to the real ones. Shout-out to true friendship.

True friendship is hard to come by. So when you find it, cherish it.

Positively yours always,

James
