‘Narcos’ is historical fiction. The amount of damage cocaine did to citizens in the United States is considerably understated in this series. Of course Colombia is different now. And a good thing. But this is a simplistic criticism. Rather like criticizing ‘The Wire’ for stereotyping Baltimore cops and drug dealers, or damning ‘Deadwood’ for it’s depiction of violent frontiersmen.
