Following on from my Porsche and Ferrari paint color blog posts I thought that I would conclude the series with Lamborghini. Compared to the typical understatedness of Porsche and the elegance of Ferrari, Lamborghini is known for manufacturing cars in rather more flamboyant colors. I’ve included a video of cars in each color below to try and better showcase the amazing colors that Lamborghini's can be ordered in.

The best reference for the wide range of Lamborghini colors that I have found is LamboPAINT, which lists almost 200 colors which are currently available, or which have been available in the past. To see a vast range of high quality photos Lamborghini's in a wide range of colors I would highly recommend checking out Lamborghini Newport Beach on Flickr.

Giallo Midas

Giallo Midas was the launch color for the new Lamborghini Huracan when it was revealed at the 2014 Geneva motor show as the successor to the popular Gallardo that had been in production since 2003. Until this point I had not been that keen on yellow Lamborghini's, but under the bright lights the Giallo Midas paintwork looked stunning and contrasted perfectly with the gloss black wheels. If was in the position to have purchased a Huracan at launch in 2014, I am confident that I would have ordered it in Giallo Midas.

Rosso Mars

As I explained in my previous blog, I am not a fan of Ferrari's in their signature Rosso Corsa red. However, I love Lamborghini's in the bright red Rosso Mars. The first Lamborghini Hurracan that I saw in person was in Rosso Mars, so perhaps this has influenced by appreciation for this color, especially on the Hurracan. Or perhaps I just like being contrary and going against the default color choice for my super car.

Grigio Telesto

Surprisingly for cars that are frequently brought to make a statement and to attract attention, Lamborghini's can be orders in several understated shades of gray. My favorite Lamborghini gray is Grigio Telesto that was made popular by the 2007 Gallardo Superleggera shown above. This medium grey gives the car a stealthy appearance, meaning that it can fly under the radar, at least until you hear the exhaust note.

Le Mans Blue

After the Orange, Yellow and Green citrus colors, blue has the next largest range of available factory colors. Of all the blue shades available, and there are many, Le Mans Blue is my favorite. Its is just the right shade of blue with the perfect level of saturation. It really makes the car look very special and different, without being too loud. I also like the pale blue color Blu Cepheus that is quite similar to Porsche Gulf Blue, and the even lighter Celeste Phoebe that was the launch color for the Gallardo Spyder in 2006.

Verde Scandal

For may owners and fans a Lamborghini should be bright and loud, and there are few colors brighter or louder than Verde Scandal. This color was originally used on the Lamborghini Miura in the 1960s, and the car shown above is the 2017 Aventador Miura Homage special edition.

Interestingly, I first saw and appreciated Verde Scandal when it was used by Lotus as one of the two launch colors for the Elise Sport 160 in 2003. If Verde Scandal is not eye catching enough for you, then Lamborghini have recently introduced an even more vibrant shade of green called Verde Themis. This color has been described by some who have seen it in person as either as highlighter pen green or tennis ball green.

Verdi Hydra

When the Huracan Performante was unveiled for the first time in 2017 at Monterey Car Week it was finished in the color of Verdi Hydra to showcase Lamborghini’s Ad Personam customization program. The beautiful and unusually elegant for Lamborghini color of dark green metallic paint contrasting perfectly with the with Huracan Performante’s signature Narvi wheels finished in bronze.

Well known UK car YouTuber TGE TV ordered his Huracan Performante in Verdi Hydra with an Ad Personam interior featuring deviated stitching in bronze to match the bronze wheels and engine cover. Before delivery the car was sold to Tony from Gravelwood Car Sales, and it subsequently featured in several additional YouTube videos before being sold in the spring of 2020.

Arancio Ishtar

Orange is one of the post popular Lamborghini colors, and Arancio Borealis has been one of the most popular paint finishes since the Lamborghini Gallardo was launched in 2003. However, I would order the the more saturated and much rarer shade of Arancio Ishtar if I wanted an orange Lamborghini. You could go even darker with the stunning Arancio Argos, which is a blood orange color, midway between orange and red.

Viola Pasifae

As with my Porsche and Ferrari blog posts I am concluding with a purple color. However, unlike Porsche and Ferrari, purple is a significantly more common color with a long history with Lamborghini. Viola Pasifae is a very saturated and highly metallic color that works particularly well on the more extreme and track focused models like the Lamborghini Huracán Performante in the video above. Its a bold choice, but the bright purple contrast well with black wheels and the newly introduced forged carbon fiber.

For a less intense color that is closer to lavender you could consider Viola SE30, the special color that Lamborghini selected for the limited run Diablo SE30 that was created in 1991 to celebrate the company’s 30th anniversary. Alternately, for a more understated look you could order the darker and almost maroon shade of Viola Ophelia.

Summary

There are so many amazing and bold colors that you could order your Lamborghini in that it is difficult to pick, actually more so than Porsche and Ferrari. I’m probably not brave enough or extrovert enough to order Verde Scandal or Viola Pasifae. Therefore, I would probably go with Le Mans Blue which for me strikes a perfect balance between loud and elegant.

This blog post concludes my series on super car colors, I hope you have enjoyed reading these blog posts and please check out my earlier Porsche and Ferrari blog posts if you have not already done so.
