The Crippling Fear of Medical Poverty
Holly Wood, PhD 🌹

Thanks for writing this. Last fall I got dental insurance for the first time in my life and when I tried to celebrate with my mother, (I grew up in a single-parent household below the poverty level) she refused to admit that we had ever gone without dental insurance and didn’t know why I wanted to celebrate. It’s hard for most people to understand how much poverty can mess with your mind, your body, and your relationship to others, so I’m really thankful that you’re taking the time to write articles like this and making sure they reach as many people as possible.
