Hey Rhett,

Thanks for the article — I came here from todays Ear Biscuits podcast — you brought up a lot of great points and made me think about this a different way. I’ve been raised in the south and have experienced the exact same indoctrination about the souths justification in the civil war. I’ve never personally agreed with those viewpoints but recent events have really made me reevaluate my childhood teaching with a fine tooth comb.

I think our biggest need right now is to stop accepting everything we’re told, stop assuming we know someone because of their race or political party and start listening to each others hurts and concerns. These types of articles help accomplish that, I just hope people can read it with an open mind.
