Also my favorite season of all time would have to be Gauntlet 2. I know the Final was completely terrible and probably the worst in series history, but the cast and everything leading up to the Final was so good it honestly doesn’t matter to me. This is by far my favorite cast of any Challenge because it had a wide array of different cast members. Also there was a great mix of young and old, specifically with a lot of different older lesser seen for awhile vets. I know Gauntlet 3 was also Rookies vs. Vets but Gauntlet 2 has the superior cast to me by a mile. Also the Final in Gauntlet 2 might have been pretty bad but at least it wasn’t won by a technicality DQ for a guy not being able to physically continue. So many great things about this season, not really enough time in the day to list them all. For starters, my boys Landon and Alton won by a landslide and it was so satisfying seeing them both win together. I loved that this was TJ’s first season ever. I loved the king of the hill battle at the beginning of the season to determine who would be team captains. I know the vets went pussy mode and did it rock paper scissors but that’s the best way ever to kick off a season in series history for me. Have a physical royal rumble to determine who has power right off the bat. Seeing Alton be captain from beginning to end was amazing. He whipped up on every guy on that team in eliminations, often toying with them as he did so. Especially the net climbing elimination was so insane. Before they even blew the horn he was basically already at the top with the flag. Smokin em. And who can forget about Derrick on this one. Going so hard the entire season and battling harder than anyone in the history of this show, only to go down at the very end the way he did in a purely weight based elimination. What a shame. He eventually got his but Derrick’s performance was so good it made the entire season alone. I was rooting for the rookies all the way and I was genuinely happy when they took it all home at the end, no matter how cheap of a win it might have been. Also this Challenge had probably my favorite daily Challenge of all time the one near the end called “The Pit” where they were trapped in that bit with nothing but like some pool noodles duck tape and yoga balls or whatever they were. It was so awesome seeing the rookies strategy to barely win at the end and get the last person out. The only way the season would have been just a little bit sweeter for me is if Jillian had gotten in at the very end and won instead of Ibis. It was so sad for me to see my favorite girl of all time go home with nothing just short of the final. I know it didn’t end up mattering at the end, but in basically any other standard final with running Jillian is so much better and more useful than Ibis would be and therefore more deserving to be in the final to me. The simple fact that she is smaller in size and lighter makes her better, because in the event that she could not continue a guy could easily pick Jill up and sprint with her if need be. Where as with Ibis she is heavier so it would not be so easy to just pick her up and start jogging. Also Jillian is clearly in better shape and would easily out preform Ibis in a final. So in the end, it all came down to some stupid eating contest, but the cast was so good and so memorable, it had some truly epic moments, and ultimately it didn’t matter that the final was so bad because the rest of the season speaks for itself. One last final shout out to Jo freaking out for no reason and threatening to call the police then abruptly leaving the show. That was one of the most random yet somehow epic moments in the show’s history for me lmao. So now I have officially published an entire book on your page, and I’m sorry if I come across as some nut job or something. I doubt you even see any of this which means it might have all been typed for nothing, but so be it. I’m simply a passionate Challenge fan like you seem to be yourself and was looking for a good place to drop off some thoughts and opinions on my favorite show of all time. I also noticed you’ve posted some sports stuff on your pages too, which is crazy because I’m also a huge sports fan myself. I guess that’s why I love the Challenge so much because it is literally another sport. That and you fall in love with your favorites from both the Challenge and the Real World so you have those guys you love to see and root for. If you ever do find some time in your schedule to read even a little bit of this then just know I love your content and you have a reader for a long as you do this in me, regardless if you read any of my comments or not. Great stuff and going beyond any of my expectations.
