Alton is an absolute legend, and if there is ever an official Challenge Hall of Fame one day he is a day one first ballot entry no discussion to be had. To me the entire Battle of the Seasons 2 season was a complete fluke and should not be used against Alton. We’re talking about a much older Alton then when he first started on the show, and all of his few friends he did have on the show had been long long gone before Seasons 2 giving him little to no chance in the political aspects of the game. But really when I think about it I guess Alton was never a political player period even at the height of his challenge game. He never really knew how to but more importantly never needed to because he would just simply out preform everyone on his team effortlessly and earn immunity from elimination. Besides, even if you choose to hold Season 2 against him, he clearly gave up and purposely lost in elimination to go home because he was that miserable there. Half of his team did make it to the final and also finished second so you can’t tell me if he had truly given it his all and tried his very best team Vegas couldn’t have definitely won. Sam was definitely the weak link for San Diego 2 and she was holding them back hardcore. I’m not saying San Diego 2 still wouldn’t have won regardless, even with Sam, but it probably would’ve been much closer had Alton been running the final with them. Basically this entire season was invalid to me in regards to Alton and it is a literal burned page out of the book that is his challenge career, because he gave up and quit. We have no idea what the real Alton would have done if he could have put the petty childish bs aside and just beasted it out. I also can’t really blame him at all for hating it there and eventually quitting, I probably would have too with that toxic ass cast. It’s also not like he picked that particular season to make his come back on. He just unfortunately got jumbled up in an almost entirely rookie class with a bunch of scared wimps who had no idea what they were doing and for some dumb reason decided to blindly follow San Diego 2. He literally could not have wound up on a worse season for him to be on if he tried, because any and all vets that would even know who he was were pretty much knocked out immediately. Austin gone in seconds, Fresh Meat to follow, and then the weakling nooby teams basically killed each other off for San Diego 2’s enjoyment while they sat back and got a free ride to the win and the cash. Yes he had Sarah from Brooklyn, but that was literally about it. His own team other then Dustin wouldn’t even listen to him at all and also was stupidly and blindly following San Diego 2. No wonder he didn’t win he had absolutely no one, no one would try to get to know him and he didn’t really want to get to know them either really because they were all Zach and Frank’s puppets, and also they were so toxic they resorted to basically trying to psychologically torture him as much as MTV would allow because they knew he was a legend and clearly their biggest threat. I always said in the end to me Big Easy will always be blamed in a huge way for how this challenge ultimately turned out in to complete crap in my opinion. Just think about how the beginning of the game went, and if literally any other male from Fresh Meat history other than Easy was on team Fresh Meat they would not have lost the ladder climbing challenge where he couldn’t even climb up a ladder, thus not going in to elimination, thus Austin probably sticks around at least a bit longer. Saint Thomas was clearly gonna roll with Austin too and it could have been Saint Thomas, Austin, Fresh Meat, Brooklyn, and maybe even Las Vegas if they could be swayed as an established veteran alliance. Suddenly all the rookie teams don’t have near as much power or control as it actually ended up turning out and New Orleans 2 would have been one of if not the absolute first teams to be out because they were clearly the weakest and they would not have made nearly as far as they did without a strong rookie alliance backing them up. So essentially after New Orleans 2’s early exit it would probably look something like Austin, Fresh Meat, Saint Thomas, and Brooklyn as one established predominately vet alliance against just San Diego 2 and Cancun for the rookies with Las Vegas being the middle team to choose where their loyalties lied. And I would be willing to be they would have no choice but to roll with the vet alliance too. Why would they go with 2 unproven rookie teams with no allegiances to anyone else who also now have no power or majority in the vote? So unless under overwhelming odds one of the rookie teams won at least a few challenges they would be picked off next. Suddenly this is an entirely different challenge all together and it’s actually at least a watchable season if not a really good one. No more ridiculous “Rookie Revolution” nonsense. That never made any sense to me you were put on a season with almost an entirely rookie cast and all you did was gang up on the few vet teams that there were. Also Fresh Meat had Easy so that was an automatic losing team every time. So essentially you had all the power from the beginning, did absolutely nothing to earn it, and didn’t really win anything or beat out any vets. So in reality there was no revolution at all. What idiots. Anyway, all because Easy was on Fresh Meat instead of literally any other male they could have come up with Fresh Meat team was automatically in elimination every time so the vet team never even had a chance to team up and form any kind of an alliance. It was entirely his fault that the entire season featured and was dominated by all rookies. I don’t even understand why he continues to come on challenges to try to prove something to people or something. I just don’t get it you already physically couldn’t complete a final, screwed an entire team out of a win and free money, can’t even climb a ladder on seasons 2, and then you end up quitting anyway in the elimination like the little bitch you are so what was the whole point? He literally screws his entire team out of any chance at winning or making any money at all just simply by being there and it pisses me off to a bad level. I can absolutely see why Camilla went ape shit on him. In my opinion he got off too easy. Anyway, to wrap this all back up and get back to the original topic of Alton, Seasons 2 was a trash season to begin with. All vet teams immediately eliminated automatically because of Easy, therefore Alton had no friends or chance, and couldn’t sway his team from siding with San Diego 2 because he had no one else to back up his voice or votes. Combine this with the facts that he didn’t even want to be there to begin with, was being purposely fucked with every single day of his life to try get him to break, had no friends to release his pain or stress with, and he ultimately decided to quit so it wasn’t legit anyway. To me Alton was never on Season 2 period. I think that’s completely fair all things considered and I have no problem with overlooking it especially considering he has been so dominant on every challenge he was on in his era. He would have at least finished 2nd on Season 2 if not won the whole thing if he simply would have put his all in to it, and that’s a fact, so in my eyes even if you do have to make yourself include this chapter in Alton’s challenge career it certainly wasn’t a disaster or a failure of any kind like so many people think it was. Everyone knows including every person on that challenge, including both Zach and Frank, that Alton is an insane competitor and would just about stomp anyone in any elimination if actually tying 100%. Seasons 2 was on of the biggest abominations in challenge history and I try to forget it even exists. Like I already said the simple act of just switching out Easy guarantees a completely different season in my book. Also consider if the original Sydney season had made it on which included vets as well, also would have been a completely different season. Also none of the members of San Diego 2 are actual challenge winners in my book. They did nothing impressive to me but sit around and pupateer a bunch of weaker fellow rookies and they did not earn a challenge victory. Alton is still an absolute legend and this pathetic excuse for a season doesn’t even define 1% of who he is on the challenge to me.
