Harlem is possibly the most famous, and infamous, neighborhood of Upper Manhattan, New York City.

Named after the city of Haarlem in the Netherlands Harlem was originally a Dutch settlement established in 1658.

Situated Uptown between the East River and Hudson River. Harlem is famous for being a hotbed of black music, art and culture.

It’s also a great place to live — a diverse neighbourhood with relatively affordable housing and plenty to see and do.

Harlem is the center of African American culture in New York City and a vibrant part of the city.

Harlem is a neighborhood in upper Manhattan in New York City. It has been historically known as an African-American cultural and business center, and was central to the Harlem Renaissance.

The neighborhood is part of Manhattan Community Board 10.

Harlem is home to more than 1 million residents, with a rich cultural history that has inspired many of America’s greatest writers and artists.
