I read because I would like to better understand whatever it is I am learning. The whole point to reading is to fill our brain with knowledge. Reading is the action or skill of reading written or printed matter silently or aloud. There are several different ways to read. If you are blind you can read by using braille, which is a form of written language for blind people, in which characters are represented by patterns of raised dots that are felt with the fingertips. Reading to some people is fun, or maybe it is boring to others, but overall it helps you learn.

When I was young I loved to read. I would ask for books for Christmas instead of toys. I feel that as the more I read it helped me be a better reader. I do feel that I didn’t read the right books that would help me comprehend better. There are several different genres of books, but the main two that the types of books put themselves into are fiction and nonfiction. Most people like to read nonfiction books, because of the fact that it gives you more education while you are having fun, if you like to read. When you are younger, you might like to read more of fiction because you have a creative imagination, but as you get older you would like to learn more so you read more of nonfiction. When I was younger I enjoyed reading fiction books.

I still enjoy reading fiction stories just more advanced. Since the fiction stories involve different worlds, I enjoy picturing what the setting is. I read when I’m extremely bored and their is nothing for me to do. Recognizing crafted sentences can be difficult at times, but then again it can be easy. When I see words that I don’t know I consider that that sentence is well worded and interesting. When I read nonfiction books, it gives me the ability to better understand what I am learning about. For example, when I need to do a paper about something and I have to research about the topic, I have to fully understand what the topic involves and over the years reading has helped me with comprehension.

If the world never had books or anything has us reading something then it would be physically hard to learn how to comprehend or even learn about something because the main part of learning is reading. Also you wouldn’t be able to teach because if you can't read then you can’t teach another kid something that involves reading. One of my favorite books I have read was, The Lightning Thief, by Rick Riordan. I enjoyed this book because even though it was a fictional book, it still taught me stuff about the Greek gods and goddess. I don’t read a lot, but I will if I have to. Everyone should read more because it will eventually help you in the future.
