It is interesting that you can interpret those findings either way. I heard someone say .. people who want to believe find reasons to believe, and those that dont find reasons not to. I dont think facts matter. And certainly atheists are no more open minded than anyone else.

You could interpret the study in different ways, and both be based on the evidence. If the person has “lost control” of their conscious brain, something must be guiding that from outside.

In the words of paul simon.

“all lies and jest,

still a man hears what he wants to hear

and disregards the rest.”

I think that is true in science as well as any other field.
