I only speculated as to what he meant, I think that’s fair to do so long as I acknowledge that I do not know, I’m just guessing.

But the logic seems easy to follow, he says what he says in a vague enough manner that he theoretically could have meant the political power that second amendment enthusiasts have (though meh, they’re mostly Republicans and always have been, not a new faction here) or he theoretically could have meant an assassination attempt. It was not explicitly stated, but could be implicitly interpreted as such, but it still eliminates him (possibly, at least in his head) from blame if someone took it the “wrong” way.

Again, I think he was just trying to play with a double edged sword here. Either way, he’s a shitty fucking person, that we agree on.
