I think that’s a dangerous slippery slope — yes, the welfare system is other people’s business if…

Tis true, but all things are a dangerous slippery slope if left to the extremes (and all things naturally go to their extreme, it seems). I don’t believe in anything in totality, it’s the circumstances that breeds the need, or the rights of something. There could be times where we would absolutely have to legislate reproductive “rights” if we wanted to continue existing at all.

The data is pretty damning, kids born into poverty are like insanely more likely to remain in poverty as adults. Infant mortality rates are far higher, criminal activity is far higher, etc. But at the same time, I think the way to combat that without stepping on the toes of other humans is by using necessary tax dollars to lift these individuals up out of said poverty.

The people complaining are usually major hypocrites in some form or fashion, and frankly they just don’t matter. My little one was born into a poor household, we had to use WIC and other measures to make ends meet for the first year or so…it worked out for us because those programs provided us not just a safety net but a stepping stone. No one should feel ashamed or be opposed to using the resources available.
