WhiskyFest San Francisco— Stories Of Our WhiskyFest Adventures

WhiskyFest San Francisco was a blast and I am looking forward to more Whisky in the Bay Area soon.

My guest for the San Francisco WhiskyFest is one of my executives. For this WhiskyFest we flew out to San Francisco from Detroit and Chicago to go look at some office spaces and hit WhiskyFest San Francisco while we were at it.

It would be a cardinal sin to write about Whisky without drinking Whisky. As I write this article I am sipping drams from a whole collection of Balvenie’s and listening to M83 Midnight City — Eric Prydz Remix.

Drinking somehow began at 1pm at a taco place in downtown San Francisco where the bartender was buying us shots to go with our margaritas. Talk about hospitality!

We then go to the top of the Marriot San Francisco, to a lounge called The View, overlooking San Francisco and the mountains. Amazing at sunset! We drank some Balvenie as a warm up before WhiskyFest starts.

The WhiskyFest San Francisco starts off great. We meet a handful of others that have traveled in for the event including one woman that drinks Balvenie 15 as a “daily scotch” and a couple of guys that were so hammered 1-hour in that they had to lean on each other. Come to find out they flew in from Denver for WhiskyFest San Francisco. Two super nice people!

One of the guys we ran into was “shocked” that we flew in from the Midwest to do WhiskyFest San Francisco, but that is how we roll!

The best part was watching him try to pick up one of the booth attendants, which we think worked. The guy had game, that or, everyone was drunk.

Tasty

Off we go to Epic Steak in San Francisco to have a proper meal and see the bridge. We start our order with A5 Kobe an appetizer which is a bad habit we have when we have been drinking.

Once the waiter understands we want a $200 meat appetizer, my guest manages to order a Macallan Batch 2 to go with it, then another, all after this is WhiskyFest San Francisco!

He had one eye open while eating his dinner but he had that “night of my life” smile on his face so he seemed happy.

We finish up an amazing dinner then head back to the Marriot, back to The View lounge again which is crammed packed at this point.

We get a couple lounge seats, chill and have some more whisky.

More Balvenie after dinner

At one point my guest watches a guy pass out, start to fall over, hit a lamp, knock it over, then fall to the floor. Security carries him out and we realize he had a WhiskyFest lanyard on.

Some people just cannot handle their liquor. Eat AND drink, this is a pro’s advice!

Follow my pro-tips before you hit WhiskyFest and pass out embarrassing yourself like Steve Harvey announcing the wrong winner!

Like your friends tell you, don’t be the person that passes out at the club before the night even gets started, it’s not amateur night!
