At a Glance

Excerpt from Poem Book 5: “My Soul to Take”

At a glance I see myself,

In eyes I’ve seen through,

When I was you.

Not in this life,

But in times gone past,

I’ve held me at a glance.

And see,

this truth is telling,

I could take off yelling,

Preaching this is you,

This is me,

this is we.

But I don’t.

I just take a glance,

With the little chance, that you’ll notice me,

See me as you see you,

and remember the time I held you,

Remember the time

I was you.

Even though time has past,

The feeling is still the same,

I am you.

And I love you,

Your draw held me at glance.

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
