Injustice is always justified, and there is nothing strange in that.. What is Just, is Just on its face, and need no justification. We should be wary of guiding our live by unproven principals, or of judging humanity against ideals.. The reason we need forms of relationship like governments, and economies is that we are so imperfect, and it is very much a mistake to build any form of relationship with a sense of the ideal in mind.. Rather, we should always be pragmatic, and always understand that people fall short, and should protect ourselves from bad people gaining control of our forms by making them easy to dispose of.. People have no need of eternal forms, or immortal corporation when they are not themselves immortal.. For example: There was no time limit set on the privileges granted in our constitution, and we fought our greatest and most deadly war over one aspect of a privilege we could not easily change.. And in the wake of that change, the property privilege was made ever stronger with the Due Process Clause.. Dred Scott was good law according to constitutional privilege, and yet it hurled us into war.. Citizens United is good law according to constitutional privilege, and yet it has hurled us into revolution or civil war once more.. Either privilege will matter, or rights will matter, and we are still a house divided..
