Who has the serverless advantage?
David Mytton

Monitoring and debugging is a recurring issue for developers once they get past the “Hello World” stage with serverless. Apache OpenWhisk, an open-source serverless platform, has recently been adding support for OpenTracing to help provide more visibility into the platform for end users.

Having an open-source platform does also make it easier to spin up platform components locally like the runtime container for a more realistic test environment.

(disclaimer: I work for IBM and I’m a huge fan of Apache OpenWhisk)
